Aroundtheboards
Wonder if he'd fit in at worky if rusty doesn't return? I'm sure he would !!! Let him see out the remainder of the season at Berwick been a good servant to the sport Long old drive for the boy from Ipswich !!! But it would be great to see Leigh fixed up, loyalty counts for nothing these days!

dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Incredibly harsh on Leigh. Top bloke , absolute professional on and off the track. Hope you find another team space soon fella.

Is that on the last averages, will he still figure in next months and would be lower taking into consideration the rides he's undertaken in August

cyclone
Even allowing for 7 for Lysager in place of Wilson, think Scunny could still replace the injured Douglas with Lanham, who scored 11+2 at EWR for Rebels there recently. Aroundtheboards
Looks like the poor chap's out to grass then! It's criminal what has been done to the guy. Came to rebels with the promise he would up his game, which he has done and then they let him go and because of that upped average he is almost unemployable, tragic. I hope the Rebels promotion are proud of what they have done to Leigh at a bad time of the year and if they don't make the play offs --- Tuff ! They don't deserve to ! Cliffeboy
After all is said and done, Leigh Lanham was a late signing for Rebels this year due to certain snags with Holder and Dilger. He filled the gap that May was looking to fill and he did it admirably. It suited Rebels and Leigh for him to join the PL outfit. He gave it his best and was immaculately turned out both personally and mechanically. He always had an encouraging or congratulating word for other team members and, for me was the fans idea of a stalwart team member. I hope Leigh finds another berth in a team purely for his experience and old school values and what he could offer in advice and example to more junior riders. Rebel Fans will always have an affectionate welcome for Leigh Lanham at the Oaktree Arena when he visits us, in whatever role he is in ! Cheers for now Leigh Lanham, like your father Mike, a true gent. Top post.
Aroundtheboards
Top post. Thanks Cliffeboy, I get very passionate about cases like this and I used to support speedway years ago when loyalty and commitment were rewarded and winning the league was not the B all and End all of the sport we love !!!
BluPanther
Another loyal British team man gets shown the door, and after increasing his starting average by nearly 2 points. Shocking..

You can't possibly win the League these days - only the 'Play Offs'. For information only.

Starman2006
Rebel fans have been suggesting it for a couple of weeks. Obviously Gary has a replacement just in time for the PO's. Im sure he has. As I put on another thread, Somerset won't win the league with him in the side. Harsh it may sound, but its business, not personal. You cannot stand still in this game. cityrebel
I think silver should give him a team spot at rye, instead of splashing the cash on air fares for the duff swedes in the current rockets side.
