OveFundinFan
Peter Collins, but he "only" won one ("only" used with the greatest respect, he was worth more then one ie 1975 and 1977 at least, and one win enough to be included within an elite number of riders).
Rob VDS
If we're talking one off night World Finals as well, Mark Loram couldn't gate either from what I can remember. Anyway time will tell, I for one hope DW does realise his potential.
Bruiser McHuge
Sure he can.....he's good enough and he's fast enough...my reservation would be his gating and I believe this would be a major drawback if it was still a one off world final as everything would have to come together on one night , his gating would have to be top notch and he'd have to win the meeting.. With a GP there is more leeway....if he stays fit and rides every round then his natural ability will get him to the top 8 in every round I'd say.....he's then we'll capable of battling a top 2 spot in a semi final and then it's a one off race.....if he constantly makes semis and finals which he should do with all his ability then he will keep gaining points which will automatically sit him near the top of the rankings ....his speed and ability will always be a threat come one off races in semis and finals.....so yeas he definitely could win a title if he stays focussed and fit
waiheke1
How many entertaining natural talents have became world champ, and how many havent?? It makes no difference how stylish you are etc, its about consistantly raking in enough points... Mainly from the gate... Because passing the best in the world every other race is alot harder than some of the opposition in team matches where you only race against 2 opposing riders. Curious to know how many world champs have been as poor from the gate as ward can be. Collins loram and Jan o I would say were worse gaters. Ermolenko on a par? Notably all single world champs.Natural talents - kelly Moran is a good comparison, though I'd suggest ward is far more professional. S Moran, sigalos, jansson, Emil (so far), Knudsen went without world titles. Lee and Collins won only one each.

Arson fire
You are so very wrong! So in real life hes not an aggressive, violent man, who cant debate or accept others have different opinions to him?? Panthers89
Well, Ward wont be in the GP's next season, so means 4 seasons, will he, yes. On his last year. The talent is there, but needs to be like Tai this season, you dont need to win each and every GP, just keep them points ticking over. Guest
Can Ward win a title within five years? i think so i hope so but who knows? Be interesting to know what you lot the avid speedway fan thinks.! I hope that he can be world champion/GP champion in LESS than five years, Darcy Ward is very much a rare speedway talent. sommelier
Thats odd logic. So he'd have probably be higher place but for injury in 2013 but you're willing to say he'd have been World Champion in 2014 due to others injuries?! surely you include injuries or you don't, you can't have it both ways. Plus Hancock averaged over 2 point a GP more, as did KK and Woffy who finished 4th averaged a little more too. He wouldn't have made the podium last season. I see him having a few 3rd/4th place finishes but he'll screw up again at some point. The only thing to stop him is himself, I think its a question when rather than if. And don't forget that at one stage last year he was leading the world championship!

SCB
No not consistent enough in the GPs think Tai will win 3-4. Holder another oneI said a few years ago Holder would never win a title. 8 months later he made me look stupid! But I agree, these days I think Holder has another title in him. To be where he is after his injuries as phenomenal and I honestky think given a year or two to rebuild his confidence we'll see title number 2 from him. Its in Darcys own hands.. Whos fault is it he hasn't ridden in more? His and only his. If he knuckles down he MIGHT win a couple but personally i dont think he has learned anything from his mistakes so is liable to mess up again

Gollob at his best was superb the other two don't come close even though they were both great riders.
