teaboy279
Great meeting, serious racing with great passes in at least 12 races. Spiller looked mega quick, classy, and looked for his team mate every time. Really, it's racing like tonight that gives you the bug I am Buzzing after an 18 point loss.Nice to see Eddie Kennett do some skids too would have been interesting to of had a clock on his times, already seen on FB people going down the conspiracy theory route and worried that Lakeside are still trying to get in to central park. They must no by now they will not be welcomed. Will check out to confirm when I get in but I believe Daniel Spillers Heat 2 time is either the 3rd or 4th fastest 4 laps around our track. waco
Cracking meeting the race between Bradley and James was the best I have seen this season. The score of 37--55', looks a bit one sided and it was ,but some of the racing knocked the higher leagues in to a cocked hat.Unfortunately several starts we're pulled back by the ref mr Holt ,all of which looked like perfect starts to me and others from our vantage point on the inner track just in front of the start line.i really do dispare at the moment of the state of refereeing in our sport. Spiller looked very good,,to good in fact to come in to this league on a 3 point average another ridiculous ruling by the idiots who run the sport he scored 17 plus 2 bonus from 7 rides and was the main difference between the teams, But you can't blame Eastbourne for taking advantage of the laughable rules,,with this team they can challenge for the league title Edited August 17, 2015 by waco
westhamboy66
Spiller = The Real Deal, the way he team rode on the outside of Owen was superb. Not my team but what Eastbourne have done is within the rules and to complain about them is simply sour grapes.
Islander15
The only way the rules could be changed (though I don't want them to be) for the likes of Spiller to come in on an average higher than a 3.00 in the future would be to say you have a higher assessed average if you'd ridden in a league abroad. But that doesn't make you a world beater, Sam Woods has ridden in the Danish second tier after all. Eastbourne have done nothing wrong other and are pleasing their fans which is something not enough clubs do imo.
cityrebel
An excellent meeting tonight, some great racing and well run. The track was a bit on the dry side at the start of the match, but apart from that, a great time was had by all!
Alex2000
Daniel spiller.... That is all! Brad vs James in his TR was brilliant! Brad totally ballsed up the first turn and dropped back but the run to the finish just brilliant and his celebrations after that were 1st class. Thanks to Chessell I'd like to see him next season for us if we have to have a re structure which I'm sure we will. Kelsey- tried to hard but he can afford to do that for now! Obviously you can't make a great meeting with one team and Kent did do very well and put on a show in a very nice venue so thanks for that as well! steven101
Absolutely cracking result for the eagles, sounds like was an awesome meeting such a shame i work evenings would of loved another trip to kent for sure. Spiller just absolutely awesome score for first time there, can see him at no.1 when he gets a new average then bates would come back for kelsey could see our team line up as: 1.spiller 2.wood 3.hopwood 4.owen 5.bwd 6.bates 7.andrews now that to me is a bloody strong side and can only see us winning the KOC , NT and gold cup if we have a team like that! Again a change at the exact right time, the dugards yet again pull another masterstroke, serious hats off to them when you think they couldnt do anymore they pull it out the bag. Now it wouldnt suprise me if bates doesnt return and they get another little gem from somewhere in for kelsey, who knows lol.
Shadders
No complaints from me. Any team could've made him an offer.
Alex2000
I see in the Kent report Len silver was saying that Spiller should have been a 5.00 average and not a reserve. Had he thought it through properly he would have realised that even if he was a 5.00 he would still be reserve in place of Matt bates who is 5.38 or something.
ruckerroo
spiller gives you impression he could winalot in this league, top dog even......
catinthehat
I think with Len its just upset not only have Eastbourne turned over Rye House at the Weekend then went to Kent and had a very convincing meeting making his side look silly all with in the rules nothing broken, like you said about Mattie Bates may have to have a knee operation so spiller has replaced him, again the Dugard must have seen that coming, I have to say they seem a bit more switched on then the older team of Geer, Bellaby and Bob Dugard. Looks that Spiller is going to be a big hit with the fans too.
Sings4Speedway
Great meeting and the score line certainly doesn't reflect the close racing and effort from both sides. Spiller looks a class act, far more mature than his years and a huge determination to win, plus with Marc Owen some of the best team riding you will see. Hopwood bigger but better than ever, BWD giving it his all in a beaut of a race with Shanes & Owen who looked woeful early on really turned it around. Ben & James showed their quality yet again & Aaron chipped in useful points. Danny was far smoother tonight but didn't gate that well although up against some strong competition & I thought Jamie was the fastest ive ever seen him in a Kings jacket. Reserves had shockers though but even without mechanicals wouldn't have got near Spiller & co. All in all an enjoyable nights racing, good to see plenty of Eastbourne fans making the trip & my first proper look at the rider with the most potential in the NL.
Halifaxtiger
Yes but how Eastbourne can bring him in on a 3 point average is a joke ? Thought this sort of thing just happens in the Elite League ? For the benefit of the ignorant, why is a 3.00 incorrect ? (no side here, I genuinely don't know). steven101
Fed up with people saying he shouldnt be a 3.00 he is british, british parents, rode over here, lived here for ages, did a lambert went to germany for whatever reason, learnt his trade on a 500 and is now starting out in england. Most riders start at NL. Eastbournes gain, any team could have got him but..back in march before bwd was officially announced i asked connor who it was coming he said a rider from germany. Told me as a decoy but now im thinking spiller has been on the cards for a while i think it was just a case of when to release him, i think he was always going to sign for us this year meaning other clubs had no chance at all. Wouldnt be suprised if his younger brother was with us next season either.
Ben91
British youngster, great prospect too. Let's saddle him with a high assessed average and alienate him, then if he reaches his full potential Germany can benefit from it rather than us. Great idea. Spiller is 17, he could have raced in the NL for the last two seasons but for one reason or another hasn't, now he has come over and he has made a highly encouraging start. Any NL side could have gone in for him, Kent included, but did they, who knows? It's not as if he has been under the radar either, he won the 250cc World title a few years back if i recall correctly.
arnieg
Not often I can say this about Kent, but FANTASTIC RACING Kent kept in the match for seven heats so it wasn't quite the runaway win the final score suggests. There was a lot of moving at the start (from both sides) and I thought Holt did a reasonable job of judging the fine line between a fast start and a rolling start. I can't see how Ben Morley can complain about his heat 13 exclusion, if he doesn't want to be excluded he should stop rolling at the start. Bit hard on Adam Shepherd, his third over Owen was one of the best rides I've seen from him And Spiller was pretty spectacular, can't argue with a paid 20 haul. while it makes his average look silly he has just as much right to it as Zach Wajtknecht, Adam Ellis and Robert Lambert (not to mention Rob Branford and Nick Morris) And a great crowd (with a very strong Eastbourne contingent)
Countershaftcounter
Lambert, Ellis, BWD and now the Spiller brothers. What have they all got in common ? Their skills were all perfected outside the uk. It does make you wonder that our lack of investment in young Brits and the lack of willingness / coordination on behalf of the BSPA in training etc it's no wonder we have a lack of riders on the world stage and lack of recognition in the media in this country. teaboy279
Biggest issue is us not allowing kids to ride 500cc bikes till 15. Spoken to a few German Speedway fans who all say that 14 yr old Ethan who his mum informed me has only just jumped on a 500cc this year is equally as good or better then Daniel. Future of British speedway looks very strong with the riders coming through. As a kent fan no problems with Spillers signing he fits all criteria of the NL and was a pleasure to watch last night.

catinthehat
I talked to Daniel last night and his father works for a German forklift company and is specialists in big forklift trucks and lifting equipment and is one of the top technicians with in the company, I didn’t get the name and Daniel never had it on his Kevlar. Also last night Daniels mums sister was in the Crowd as they only live in Shorne. What a small world an English Family supporting an English man thats because they are all English.
