Jacques
. Sheffield don't have a meeting so we'd be ok that day. Robson will hopefully be gone by then! But you're right, we'd have no Danny King. The thing is, this meeting is not anywhere near as important for us as it is for Swindon. We don't need the points, there no guarantee we'd get points even. So what is in it for us to rush to re-arranging it? Just thinking back to 2010 when Swindon screwed us over calling off a meeting weeks before the play-off cut-off but we unable to re-stage it until after the cut-off. Hopefully a bit of Karma comes into play here! You are awful, but I like you Edited August 13, 2015 by Jacques
A ORLOV
Good luck to the Bees for away points. They have already had their two meetings against Wolves

SPEEDY69
Postponement seems a bit early as having looked at the forecast it only mentions possible thunderstorms not continuous heavy rain - are Swindon hoping Coventry will be easier to beat on a slick bald track later on when it's been decided if they'll be top or second in the table? Should've been on TV then it wouldn't have happened
Chalkie
This is a difficult call. Locals will always prefer a later decision but people travelling any distance would rather avoid a wasted journey. We were due to travel over from Kent for the day but I decided to go into work instead, once I saw the weather! This has got nothing to do with saving away fans a wasted trip. If they call it off early, they avoid stadium rent and can stop the foreign riders getting on a plane and thus costing them wasted travel expenses! I am writing this at 1:50pm and still no rain! See post no 60 in Swindon's New Stadium thread, it never rains in posh, leafy Lechlade!

There's no Rent until the turnstiles open at 6:30pm and I very much doubt they get money back on booked flights that are not taken at extremely short notice - would need to be called off the day before for any saving there. How's your weather doing :-) Edited August 13, 2015 by Reliant Robin

How's your weather doing :-) I think you are wrong Robin,? ( i could be wrong as usual ?) a early postponement saves rent the only time now you will see a meeting at Swindon which is iffy being on at 6.30 is when Sky is in town.! I'm definitely not wrong on this one....rent is chargeable once public are admitted. I believe there is a nominal charge on food in the restaurant if it gets past 4pm

A ORLOV
If that is the case who pays for all the stadium staff that turn up before 6.30, there are the catering, if you can call it that, staff, the people in the car park collecting your parking money, security etc.
Grachan
The thing is, even if they had tried to stage this match the crowd would not have been good. I, for one, had already decided I wasn't going before it was called off. Surely this is better than just starting at the weather all day and wondering if speedway is going to be on or not. I gave that up as a bad job years ago.
