gee jay
A decent crowd for an NL meeting, boosted by a fair few Eagles fans. Yes, but I've only ever seen him race at Rye. Scary innit? it might be scary along side him but he's fabulous to watch , though i'm not sure my heart could take watching him every week. The new promotion didn't take over until late 2014/early 2015, leaving little time to do much apart from the initial groundwork. I'm told they'll be on the case once the season ends, which looks like it'll be the end of September the way things are going. would it be possible if some of the work you talk about include finding out where those mosquitos come from on the back straight and napalming the little b*********s. i've always wanted filmstar looks but i wasn't thinking of john hurt in the elephant man. Well the New owner uses Len as the frontman and we all heard what he said about the work and improvements continuing during the summer as the work was hampered by the winter weather. So they close the area to the public then do nothing? Leave it to the winter and get cracking that is of course if they are not hampered again by the weather. My main gripe is that is the lack of viewing on all the bends and especially the exit from the second bend. Fine if you want to watch the racing from the home straight which i don't. One other thing that was interesting was Andrew's race card notes where he mentioned that he couldn't offer Spiller a team place because for some reason the training school is not operating to his satisfaction due to the new management. A lot of friendly faces have disappeared gradually this season to be replaced by the bloke who must be in the Guinness Book of records for carrying the biggest bunch of keys in the world and the large security bloke who feels the need to capture everyone's attention as you arrive. As far as the meeting went pretty entertaining with Eastbourne deserving exactly what they got.
Hob Nob
There seems to be alot of unrest in the Raiders camp, Luke Chessell was seen to be loading his van back up before the start of the meeting yesterday obviously got the problem sorted but can't be good for the team to focus on the task ahead. Heard he was told to leave the stadium, something to do with the big bunch of keys man. Who is he? Comes across as a right pratt!
Brian
Don't know anything about the workings behind the scenes but changes happen in every company and they're not always bad. So many rumours in here and earlier threads about Rye but until things change I've no idea what the future holds for the place. It is run down and the whole place needs a spark from somewhere. Enjoyable meeting but concerned about Andrew's notes on training facilities.
T2TV
Lots of people have asked, and yes the match was recorded and T2TV have a DVD already edited. www.t2tvmedia.co.uk. Heat 13 is as good a race as you will see anywhere, superb stuff.
catinthehat
The guy with the Keys was Warren Scotts right hand man, He did tell Luke to remove himself from the stadium which words went backwards and forwards between them, a lot of unrest in Rhe House camp but can only have come from the conflict in the management. I have been there a few times and can see the way len and Andrew fight and have to say that Len is not always correct, but back to the meeting great win by the Eagles and a good meeting to watch. Sings4Speedway
Pity Chessell wasn't kicked out of the stadium for good. The guy is a chump. Looking forward to him getting a warm reception at Kent tonight As for the disharmony that is a huge shame as Andrew has done a great job this season with a team on the up so if the higher management is spoiling it then that would be a huge shame. Also the back bone of Rye House for years has been the training schools so if they have been lost it would be a huge shame. Heard a rumour at Mildy yesterday that Danyon had broken his wrist? Hope that isn't the case as many have said very entertaining to watch and very nice lad.

catinthehat
Shame for Danyon as he is a flat out style, a very brave rider but really needs to go back to basics with the way he enters the turn, Please to see him get up and push the bike off the track, the ref should need shooting as he must have seen him on the floor, not to stopt the race and then to find out later he has boken his wrist, REF you need to go to spec savers.

rye123
Chessell was asked to leave the stadium because he confronted new owners over the deal which was made at the start of the year as this deal was not being met therefore as captain stood up for his team.! I've also been told the new co promoter and his buddies were using the track to race, using four wheeled machines, not sure what type. Shouldn't be asked to leave for doing that. If something isn't right then he should make a stand.

IF that is the case then fair enough although making him captain might have been a mistake in the first place as he lacks any level of diplomacy or communication skills that aren't swearing or grunting. Barred from the stadium that is practically the second family home & speedway training / practice plays second fiddle to the new guys own personal playground. Fingers crossed he won't be involved with the sport for long!

Very little i like about the atmosphere at Rye these days . Perhaps you might like to express your opinions about Chessell to his face. From what I've seen this season, Luke Chessell is an excellent captain: puts the team first, often at the expense of himself, helps the younger lads & the team spirit among all the Raiders is superb - one of the better captains IMO

I agree and I could only assume the ref was watching Daniel Spiller fall and was unaware that Danyon was also a faller. Danyon was clearing the track very quickly as Rob Branford was heading towards him and I don't think he made the safety of the centre green with much to spare! Ben91
Chessell would be a heat leader in th NL if he stayed on the bike more often. Certainly got scope for improvement next season again too, the Raiders would do well to keep hold of him.
Hob Nob
Luke Chessell is head strong but thats what you need in a captain, someone that will stick his neck out for his team. You can tell that the team have gelled, the team spirit is evident. I think the stadium managent is a lot to blame, ie, no training schools, telling the captain to leave the stadium (ludicrous) Smacks of "I haven't got a clue" I fear for Rye House I feel this could be the last season. Oh and Andrew Silver banned from the stadium WTF really????
