Fromafar
Supporting a rider or any supporters event can only benefit the Club and anyone doing so should be applauded.IMO.
bigeddiechek
Surely its up to the individual as to how and who they sponsor, be it through the club or approaching a rider personally. Looks like To The Point sponsors riders through friendship rather than any kind of commercial gain, be it a rider or an event like the up and coming night with Tatum and Pearson where incidentally its great to see part of the new consortium getting involved as sponsors. Absolutely, I was going to add that my rider sponsorship in the past was mainly for the personal enjoyment. The club too. It's good to see that club and supporters' club are working together again. Â That is a very positive move. Turning up on a Saturday, going to away meetings, and verbally backing your riders and club are all important parts of being a true fan.

screm
I am hoping having Matty at reserve will bring on Liam this season  I think Carr could be a real trump card at reserve, looking at the other riders in his position there is nobody he cant beat, certainly at Berwick. He now has the experience in the PL of all of the away tracks so there is no reason for him not to pick up points on his travels. Along with Whethers, who should be a dominant reserve, Berwick have a real strength in the bottom two positions.

To The Point
Â Since you mention it, yes. Damn right I have! Cannot share your over optimism, when you look above at what is realistic, it often leads to a fall. However the team has a very solid look about it, and can go either way, a lot of good points and a lot of if's also. In my humble opinion, TJ, Anders and Seb have potential to increase their averages in the main body of the tream, Kev and Theo will do a good job but may drop their average slightly. but it could easily go the other way. At the bottom end Liam is in the top four at the No 7 position, he has an advantage of most of the other No 7s in that he has ridden most PL tracks, whether he increases his average is open to debate, but again he has the potential to do so. Same goes for Matty at No6, his average has dropped every year for 4 years, he has taken a lot of knocks in that last 2 seasons, could this be his season to prove something, or is he where he is, only time will tell. Â Most folk have put Berwick, Scunthorpe and Redcar at the bottom of the table, I probably agree in Redcars case. I think both Berwick and Scunthorpe will be mid league, but with a lot of luck both teams could reach a bit higher.

topsoil
The club have been very active in social media lately, a lot of it trivial stuff, but it follows the example of other professional teams in other sports, keeping the club in the public eye. I like the latest developments where they are going into partnership with three local good causes. All good p.r. For the club. The more publicity for the club the more sponsors / fans / investors are encouraged to get involved.

Feels like there has been a lot of coming together. Working with the Football Club, local businessmen stepping up and supporting the club both financially and professionally, more fans coming forward and helping out, and a great team Manager in place. Â Lots of people are talking about the club with a real buzz around the area. Â Can't wait for the season to start!

bigeddiechek
More great news! Great to see two of the new Directors putting on a free bus  "All Aboard! Darren Amers and Michael Mullan, two of our new Associate Directors, have put their money where their mouths are, and are offering some of our supporters the opportunity to travel to Redcar on March 24 to cheer on our Bandits. The dynamic duo are paying for a luxury coach to ferry a few dozen or so fans to our opening meeting against the Bears in the Tees - Tweed Trophy. "We need to go down there and really make a noise" said Darren, "It's our first meeting of the Season, and we feel that we can go down there and pull off a win, We've got seven guys going on track to win, but if we can take down 50 raucous and rowdy Bandit fans, we'll tip the balance in our favour for sure".  "Spaces are limited to one coach" explains Michael Mullan of Castle Blinds.  "So PM this page as soon as you can - Its strictly First come, First Served, but we'd really love to take a bus full down to cheer on our heroes." Times will be confirmed later - Why not book your seat now, then pay at the Media Prime Arena, cheer your heart out, then do it again on the Saturday at Shielfield?PM us on Facebook to book a seat on the coach."  https://www.facebook.com/BerwickSpeedway/ Edited February 20, 2016 by bigeddiechek
