jenga
so every time there was an accident at worky and the doctor had to stay with the patient until the county ambulance arrived and took over the patient assessment/medical issues . so all those times there was no need to hold the meeting up because there was a paramedic crew there . so all those years we have got it wrong the ref was wrong, all those team managers were wrong, the doc was wrong, even the paramedics were wrong and thats since 1999 when speedway came back to workington . ..lets of your thoughts an hold ups at your track. Positive Thinker
I suspect Workington speedway, under various administrations, has suffered from an over-officious medical policy, not apparent at other circuits.
jenga
I suspect Workington speedway, under various administrations, has suffered from an over-officious medical policy, not apparent at other circuits. or maybe just doing the right thing ! i remember being at sheffield one year for the plrc and the meeting was held up while the doc was in the medical room with a rider and there seemed to be plenty of paramedics there to cover . OR WERE THEY JUST ST JOHNS ? BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PARAMEDICS AND ST JOHNS . but both do a sterling job all around the country . barncooseboy
At Worington the Doctor has been and I believe is Andy Butler who up until recently was the medical representative on the SCB, until the SCB recently decided they didnt need anyone medical as part of the Board. He is, however, Still a representative on the ACU boards that are likely to involve them selves in medical standards He is a lovely guy and his main concern is for ANYBODY at a speedway meeting, riders, officials and spectators should all be safe and looked after if things go wrong.

As an ex member it is St John not St Johns a mistake a lot of people make. Also great to see Monarchs are converting a van for the same purpose. I will be interested to see if this is within the rules as it does state a registered ambulance, which I would think this is what it will have to say on the V5, lets face it Berwick were stopped from using the old ambulance one night because its VEL was out of date even though it never leaves the track, but the rules say the ambulance must be road ready, this caused an hours delay while another vehicle was brought up from Alnwick.
