Berwick 2016

Debatable I want to see him on his Argentinian machinery which he classes as his own and not Birks' old bikes

His Argentinian equipment looks good in Argentina, more to do with everyone is on pretty poor equipment, but was no better than the equipent he purchased over here. Most invited riders take their old machinery over there, then sell it when they have finished the series. I would like to see him racing on at least one new bike over here, that takes sponsorship and for someone like him that his hard to come by. All Promotions should take a bigger responsibility in getting sponsorship for THEIR riders, and not just sticking to the wage deal they did and leave it up to the rider to find sponsorship, especially if they are foreign and sometimes have language barriers. After al it is in the Sponsors own interest to have a successful riders in their team.

Taking a tip from General Melchett----Personally, I'd recommend you get hold of a cocker spaniel, tie the bloke to a chair with a potty on his head, then pop his todger between 2 floury buns and shout "Dinner time Fido".

With a name like Dyson, shouldn't he suck?

Well well well, if by the sounds of the last paragraph he will be at reserve it is a very nice signing, although unfortunately means thay we will probably not see Coty, I like the fact that we have such a strong reserve though

Great signing, especially if he is starting at reserve.

Taffy might get his strength-in-depth team, along with his slick-with-grip track in 2016.

Rather than just listing teams I am far more interested in how promoters go about building teams. I suppose you have signings in mind, but then you have to approach the riders' parent club, always assuming the rider doesn't want to sign with his parent club. Then you need to agree terms. But all the time you need to consider things like does the rider double up with an Elite league club, ride abroad, will there be fixtures clashes, official FIM meetings.

Then there are the actual negotiations. Do you pay a rider a set rate £x per point and leave him to meet all his costs, or do you pay less per point and meet certain costs like the travelling, equipment and so on. Are there any riders who make strange demands? Do different teams have different pay scales?

I guess we will never know the full story. The deals will likely be variations of all the things you have pointed out.

I think Taffy's post about Promotions being responsible for getting sponsorship in place for riders is one of the biggest piles of mince that I have ever heard.

Of course, it's not a bad thing if Promotions can help with this, but certainly not their responsibility.
