tweedcider
The reason the three associate directors that have just resigned, got involved in the 1st place, was very much to do with their involvement with Berwick Rangers, than it had to do with speedway itself. Entirely wrong, One sponsors Berwick Rangers, one is involved in Junior Football, and the third is a mystery

screm
One things for sure, the speedway is poorer for losing the consortium, though its positive news to hear that under the right ownership of the club they would be willing to help.
tweedcider
Suggest you have a chat with them I bow to your superior knowledge, I was with two of them last week and had them down as Speedway folk, not Rangers supporters.

They certainly took to speedway in a big way, and seem to enjoy the experience. Were a breath of fresh air, bringing a bit of fun back into speedway. Of the three Dennis Hush used to come to speedway, but lost interest in the last few years, got re-invigorated with Michael and Darren.

Darren may have been a fan , don,t recall him as a regular, and he didn't give me that impression when talking to him. Spent half of one meeting explaining the rules to Darren and Michael
samsplint
Dennis started going to the speedway with the St John Ambulance as a cadet at shielfield and a full member at Berrington so he's been involved for a few years
crescent girl
For what it's worth, to suggest Dennis Hush had 'fallen away' from supporting the Bandits in recent years is nonsence. Â He and Sandra, along with Billy and Sian, have been regulars all the way as much as business permitted, and if other 'fans' were as dedicated -- Dennis and Sandra were even at Ipswich to cheer us on in the KO Cup last season, on a (great) night not too much black and gold was in evidence!

Youre really like to have a moan about the "other fans " recently. How many fans with a 9-5 Mon-Fri job can go to Ipswich on a Thursday night. Poor example to quote IMO .
Mad Max
Rumour mill in overdrive - if prospective buyer comes to fruition your next team manager will make Courtney look like a tactical genius !!
balderdash&piffle
Rumour mill in overdrive - if prospective buyer comes to fruition your next team manager will make Courtney look like a tactical genius !! So many rumours, don't know which one to believe next. One even reckons I will be the next promoter, running it for a money man. How the hell can you enjoy speedway if you are running it, too old and too careful with my money
topsoil
I'd be the first one to back Scott Courtney after the job he has done this season. This is remember his first season as a manager. Think of all the injuries and shuffling of riders he's had to work with. He's stayed positive, always backed the riders, his work behind the scenes goes un-noticed (I witnessed it first hand one day with track covers). If Berwick do come back next season I hope he is retained as manager.

Absolutely agree with that, yes he made a few mistakes, but learnt by them.

balderdash&piffle
To be honest if there is still speedway at Berwick next season most fans won't care who the Team Manager is. They should, it's whats been lacking since Dave Peat, in both cases they could only work with what they were allowed. Must be frustrating to be limited in your ability, but one has to work within a budget.

So many rumours though, probably not to many true.  I`d back Scott Courtney to remain as manager, he has made a mistake or two this season but I believe has the savvy to learn from those mistakes and this season will have giving him some experience that will make him a better manager in the future. There are many things to be changed at Berwick Speedway but the team manager isn't one of them.
crescent girl
Scott is also smart enough not to return to the job if an incoming owner wasn't his cup of tea.
