Berwick 2016

Recommended Posts

Everything was looking rosy in June, good couple of away results looking good for a possible playoff place GUEST facility for the unfortunate Seb which was working well. Fast forward to today out of the playoffs, KO Cup only chance to win some silverware then the news that the consortium have resigned. Looks like another worrying winter for the Bandits faithful.

You're as good as in the KOC final. Can't see you letting a 16 point lead slip. At least your season will last longer than some

More concerned that Crescent Girl has yet to comment. Maybe a new beginning or a second coming you heard it here first.

They sent out a newsletter yesterday to say the Somerset match was off good time to tell fans whats going on but no chance of that hopefully the club or the ex associate directors will let everyone know what has happened as i dont live locally never heard any rumours, and put all the rumours to bed

That's only 4 5-1s , with the way Berwick lose heat advtages at the end of meetings it could be close , unless we have MPT as a guest again

Rye House tie far from over, Berwick should do enough to get through but with so many defeats lately confidence must be low.

Over 2 legs provided we get past Rye House we could beat Newcastle if all our riders ride to their capabilities. Looking at score from Brough Park we were only 4pts down after heat 12 and that was when TJ was struggling in the number 1 position plus we had Henning Bager in the line-up. With what's going on behind the scenes with the club at the moment think us fans need to stay positive.

No chance against Newcastle I'm afraid, we don't have Seb Alden... We'll get beat both home and away against them

I agree with you though I think we need to get past Rye House first, we need to hope that bother Belle Vue and Kings Lynn are busy on those nights, that at least would take away Worrall and Lambert.

From former Associate Director Michael Mullan - Worrying

We are grateful to Keith and his contacts for giving us the opportunity to put our side forward regarding our resignation from Berwick Bandits Speedway Club.
A year ago, the public were told that the club faced a "Makeover or Takeover" situation.
After several years of losses, we were told that was it - John Anderson needed help, or the club folded.
Following the announced closure of Jus-Rol, we got together to help sustain one of Berwicks few remaining assets; The Bandits.
With a couple of other backers, we genuinely believed that we could make a difference.
A well balanced team was assembled, Season Tickets sales were promising, and we entered wholeheartedly into securing unprecedented financial support for the club.
Crowds have increased, and Hospitality and Track Shop are busier than ever, we are told.
However, as Business owners in the local area, we have earned reputations for integrity and honesty; a Handshake is a deal done, a nod, payment assured.
We found ourselves latterly in the position where this integrity was compromised, and for the future of our businesses, and more importantly, our families, we can no longer be associated with Berwick Speedway in its' current form.
The club. like the town, is unique; We have been overwhelmed by the degree of support for Berwick Bandits.
So many help behind the scenes, often unseen and unappreciated.
The support for the club in the wider community is phenomenal, although many choose not to support the current owners.
We will always be Bandits fans, but we refuse to have our integrity compromised by association.
THAT is why we resigned.
We would happily consider helping the club under another consortium.
