It would be pointless bringing in a rider to strengthen the lower end of the team, with Gappmaier and Carr at reserve we have strength there. Your weakness is covering for Alden with R/R, to ask Gappmaier to move up and score adequately would be a mistake.

Correct although some Poles could be on duel nationality and all that

My understanding is if a Polish rider rides in the PL, they will suspend his Polish licence, therefore denying him the right to ride in his own country. If a Polish rider does not ride in Poland is he good enough to ride in the UK

But surely a Polish rider could apply for say a Swedish licence if they have Swedish connections and then ride under a Swedish licence in both Poland and in the PL? Edited by allthegearbutnaeidea

He could ride on any licence, even a British one, but if his PLZ licence is revoked not in his home country. The question I would ask, is if he is willing to give up Polish riding, the most lucrative in speedway. Should any other country even bother with him as he isn't reaching the standard required of him.

Actually why arn't the Poles allowed to ride in the PL?

Don't really know what the beef is between Polish and British authorities, however the Polish authorities insist that they have priority over their own riders, that alone has problems for any UK club in the PL

They can ride elite league though, another barking mad rule that just seems to get made up.

Probably because most EL clubs ride early in the week, and PL more around the weekend.

Still bonkers though whatever way you look at it, and the bigger picture is, its not helping speedway in the UK.

Good luck young Leon Flint, no pressure, just give it your all!!! Will be watching live stream and cheering you along, we all need to remember that we, Berwick-upon-tweed have the youngest rider to make the 250cc WORLD final and infact the only Brit, do us proud Leon! I'm sure you will, fingers crossed
