Berwick 2016

Recommended Posts

Surely its in the interest of a club to keep thier supporters engaged during the close season to this end they must depend on supporters organiations to help in this as the officials have too much to do getting ready for the new season, with this in mind it doesn't take 2 mins to put a link onto a club website for an event that is taking place. Bet if this had happened in 2014 it would have been all over the club site

Absolutely, the club are engaging with supporters this winter via the clubs newsletter.

Your support noted, and passed to the team producing the newsletter. Many thanks.

first thing in my head here was the Dads Army episode.....

You are going on the list - what is your name?

Dont tell him Pike?

What a load of trolling nonsense.

Sports clubs aren’t going to continually reference what their supporters clubs are doing all the time. I don’t go on the Arsenal site expecting to read about their supporters club I go on it expecting to read about….Arsenal.

The official Arsenal FC site carries full details of their Supporters Club, right from their disabled fans to their gay fans.

It might be worth dropping them a message, Screm.

Interestingly, they distinguish between official and unofficial supporters clubs.
Maybe this is something speedway can learn from the vastly successful Premiership?

No sorry I have Newcastle as my team and unless they find a cure that`s just how it will stay, though I`m very happy to enquire on your behalf, maybe they will open a special section all to yourself.

Finally, an admission to what so many have suspected!

Which shows you don't read the General Discussions section. screm regularly posts on it.

Isn't editing posts in the way you have done against forum rules.

mmmyes very nice

Liking the change of username. ;)

I wouldn't bother Tsunami as I don`t think this particular posters ventures far from the Berwick thread, at least the rest of the forum is spared that.

Nice to see back to business as usual on here for the usual suspects.
Well done to Sparkafag for giving them a reason to exist again :)

No idea why I would want to venture to the general discussion part of the forum.
Didn't even know it existed, never mind be inclined to post there.

I'm here as I support the Bandits. Kind of the point of the forum: or is there a lonely hearts part of it too?

Berwicks "us" and "them " certainly doesn't help the situation.

I am pleased to be a member of the vast majority who are members of the 'THEM' camp. It is a great shame the club surround themselves with 'Yes Men', those who see no wrong. In business I need to know if I have got something wrong, so that I can correct my error quickly, before I lose any of my treasured customer base.

Aye, have to admit, you've got your business spot on Taffy, cracking retail enterprise.

A lot of us support speedway in general and like to know what happens at other clubs, and what is happening generally in the speedway world. Not just live in the little bubble of their own team, it does not make them any lesser fan of their home team though

You can be as sarcastic as you wish. I am content with my lot, and my little enterprise has given me a very good regular income over many years,

Practice will be six weeks tonight. Hopefully that will get minds back on bikes and tracks. Meanwhile, what about former Bandits Jamie Robertson and Adam McKinna planning to drive across India in a motorised rickshaw?

From the newsletter:

Former Bandits Adam McKinna and Jamie Robertson, together with their good friend Campbell Rodgerson will be embarking on an astounding charity-raising drive in April -- going 1,600 miles across the Indian sub-continent, with no support vehicles or even a planned route!

Not just that -- the intrepid trio are driving the entire distance in a tuk-tuk!

These vehicles are the motorised rickshaws often seen in Indian films -- not exactly luxury transportation.

"We are doing this as a personal challenge, raising money for the Wings For Life foundation -- the people who are desperately trying to research the business of spinal cord research" explained Adam. "So many speedway riders and other sports people are currently in wheelchairs, and we want to make a difference -- the question is not whether effective treatments and cures will be found, but when they will be found.”

"So, as you might guess -- we are looking for some corporate sponsors. We estimate the total cost of trip might be around five or six thousand pounds and we are looking for some help to cover around 50% of these costs"

"As Jamie and I raced as Bandits in the past, anyone interested in helping raise funds should contact us if you'd like to support us in any way and get some exposure for your business"

"There will be massive publicity available to those involved, of course. Reach me at outstanding_wood@yahoo.co.uk to find out more".
