Pete Greenwood
Normal thing seams to be these days is to get rid of another rider and go for a 3pointer and a big hitter . Do Rye pay ok these days or are riders having to wait ?
Ben91
If it's true I'd sacrifice another rider and bring in Branford and a big hitter. Â A five point unknown is unlikely to improve and we'd be bumping Kasper into the team, may as well sign Branford on an average he can improve and some decent back up for Eddie. Chris
Can't see any benefit of Leigh Lanham being signed so a double change if for the better would improve the side. Not sure there's many heatleaders out there though.

Not sure there's many heatleaders out there though. Lanham still a good 'journeyman' rider who will on most nights at least hold his average, if not an extra point or so. Cert. still a better option than bringing over a foreigner and hoping anyway!
Rayleigh
Â still a better option than bringing over a foreigner and hoping anyway! Â That's and interesting plan, there is a rumour that Nick Busk Jacobson has promise, we could get him over, use this season to bed him in to English speedway, see the tracks, learn the gearing etc and then in year 2 we could take advantage of a fast improving low average rider like we did with Linus Sundstrom and some other rider whose name escapes me. Ben91
For every Sundstrom there's a a dozen duff riders though, it's not as clear cut as signing someone, he beds in in his first season and then dominates the second year. Â It isn't worth sacrificing a solid reserve to bring in an unknown, just look at Maassen this season. It either has to be a like for like swap for Klindt or two changes with Branford, a known quantity and improving, and a heatleader coming in. proud panther
As Peterborough & Redcar have discovered, there isn't many big hitters available.
tyretrax
Â Tai Woffinden Well spotted, I bet no else thought of Tai.
szkocjasid
Well spotted, I bet no else thought of Tai. Slightly different situation though. Two scandinavians who came in on 7.00 ave's inly dropped a little then had potential to improve greatly in second season. Woffinden was a 3.00 wonderboy, who hit 8.00 and improved the next year also!
waco
What riders are available assuming Rye go down either of the suggested routes to complete the team ??
bolly
At the risk of getting loads of hate mail from the older Rye fans, do we think that Robbo is going to maintain or improve his average this year ? With the general cock up on team building this year, I cannot think of many options other than maybe losing Robbo or Leigh if Klindt has actually decided to not ride for Rye House, then see if Pontus is available (don't know his current average) then look for somebody to fit in with the points left, Rosen, Palovarra, Eklof, Graversen. Maybe this sort of shuffle was in the minds of Rye management when they contacted Jye Etheridge, wouldn't lie to think they were thinking of a 1 for1 swop, Klindt for Etheridge as this would have left us at least one point below limit (usual Len team ? ) Â There you go, as much as I admire Robbo and was thrilled by his efforts and exploits in our winning team. I see him as a 3rd heat leader who is not going to improve in future, a job which Leigh Lanham can do at Rye House and I don't think either can do regularly on away tracks. Â Now I put on flak jacket, hard hat and stand back. Â I don't know why I am surprised, cock ups on the team front seem to be part and parcel of Rye management. NB. Tyson Nelson, Stevie B, Jason Doyle, Rob Lambert, NBJ etc. etc.

Pinny
i would say its true and now the door has opened for him at scunny now poole has called it a day. Surely he would of only left rye to sign for leicester?
neb
Surely he would of only left rye to sign for leicester? he probably is riding for Leicester but now has the chance to ride at scunny also until they find a permanent replacement for poole. HadrianDog
Robbo still a trier, though with now a return to Rye after Newcastle and redcar, is he merely doing the rounds of his former clubs prior to retirement. How many more like him have lost valuable reserve EL income as a direct result of the so-called El draft which admittedly 'makes' a few, but has found many more sadly lacking. On a funnier note which may be lost down here- my spell checker actually saw a mistake in my spelling of redcar with a small 'r' . Opps, there it goes again. Hint of course is regional rivalry and not being sure who you lot would similarly abuse, I leave it open to conjecture  ...or Percy Blakeney. Well he could certainly 'PIMP' his rides!
