Knight R/R (broken nose) for KL and Williamson for Branford nor the Raiders.

Just seen on the BSPA review that R/R in operation for Chessel, that will seriously hamper Ryes chance of getting anything out of the meeting, with only Priest, Bowtell and the reserves able to take an extra ride. Fancied our chances when we originally due to meet when we had our full team available. Williamson looks a good choice of guest, reckon 52-42 tonight with Bailey getting anything over paid 15.

Thought there was a 8 day on guests with Williamson riding there for cradely

Don't know the exact rule, but do remember someone saying something along the lines of it not applying to an away Number 1. Probably wrong but perhaps someone could confirm how it works.

Yes he is, riding for his own team doesn't count.

GUEST RIDER (G) replaces an absent regular Team Member subject to the following: 17.7.1 If the absent Rider is in the Top 1 5 of the Team, then the Missing Riders MA will be

enhanced by + 5% at a Home Meeting to determine the allowance for the Guest Rider.

17.7.1.2 A Rider may ride as a Guest (in an Official Meeting) at a Track only once in an 8-day period

unless replacing the Home Teams #1 or is a NL Rider guesting for the Home Team.

17.7.1.3 The Guest must be in a current Team Declaration and have an MA that is the same or lower than that of the absent Rider. If a replacement PL Rider also has a current EL MA then the

higher of the MAs will dictate the eligibility.

17.7.1.4 The Guest assumes the position and MA of the Missing Rider.

That's actually the EL version of the Guest rules, which are slightly different to the NL, but the same principle applies with regard to the 8 day rule. In the past, the rule was that a rider wasn't allowed to guest within 8 days either side of appearing for their own team, but it has changed a couple of times since then.

Just back from this one. My first NL level meeting for quite a few years.

Thoroughly enjoyed it apart from it being a bit on the nippy side....winters draws on :P

Looking at the programme I thought I'd gone back in time when I saw the name George Hunter......you have to be a certain age

Racing was as good as any EL meeting I've seen in the last 2-3 years. Most heats had closely contested battles even if they didn't all have overtaking, tho many did. The race between Luke Priest and Josh Bailey was brilliant. I didn't see one move by either side that could be judged as even remotely dirty, no gamesmanship of any kind. When there were spills, apologies followed ASAP. There were a few spills, a couple of spectacular ones but the riders walked away thankfully, the bikes didn't! The track was good and smooth with very little tractor grading :approve: and to be honest it didn't need any. Despite both teams using r/r for the most part riders for the next race were lined up in the pits ready to come out as soon as the previous four were off the track. The riders did laps of honour, they waved and even attempted the odd wheelie......well my family were flummoxed, just what are fans supposed to do in those circumstances, it don't happen at EL matches :P

All in all I was very impressed. Just a shame that there were not more people there cos it proved you do not need overpaid, egotistical, journeyman foreigners to make a speedway meeting entertaining.

I second that Star Lady. Thoroughly enjoyable meeting. Just watching Josh Bailey was worth going for. A good all round performance with a thrills and spills. Yes it was a bit nippy. Great that the riders acknowledge the supporters which you do not always get from EL riders. Seemed to be a bigger crowd tonight. Just wish more folk would come and watch these lads, they are the future !!

Not far out with that score line, missed Chessell , impressed by Hunter for Rye always on the pace, 1st time I've seen him. Embarrassing moment for Sampford in Heat 11 trying to send Bowtell out when he had already been excluded. Better meeting than the score line suggests. Hope for a good result against Cradley on Saturday.
