montie
Och! this hurts cannot believe Ryans rotten luck last night get well soon fella. Was not there; how did it happen; because if again a rider ends up under the air fence ? then we want to seriously look again at these fences. Nowt to do with fence, wasnt under the fence, was just plain simple bad luck, nothing much of a crash, just fell in a bad way and snap,go rode wide by Kurtz[not dirty] and down he went Good meeting last night i thought, some tip top racing,Bellego was good from the back Sad to see a rider stand on track causing a re run,Sissis could quite easily have cleared track in heat two Will be supporting Sheff in the play offs but they need to up their game a bit i think--good luck!!! lucifer sam
Oh dear! I had hoped to see Richard Hall riding tonight at Scunny. You will. Check out Richard Hall's twitter: Happy with tonight paid 12 And a win for @_glasgowtigers puts them top of the league. On to @SpeedwayScunny tomorrow night @diamondspeedway I think Mr Havelock of the Bears may have made a mistake. All the best Rob

HadrianDog
Another bad day at the office for our lads. Ludde apart, there were few bright moments it seems. The late fight back just that- too late. If Tero and Richard had scored even half what each scored last night, the scores would have been substantially closer methinks. Most importantly though all came through relatively unscathed. Sounds like Tero had a lucky escape flying over the fence too. If this does not start Roy introducing him as 'the Flying Finn', I will be surprised and relieved.

Maybe the score was unjustly flattering. I wonder if Richie would have faired better than R/R had Somerset not been riding?
Albert
Tough week injury wise .. I found it particularly hard to get enthused for tonights meeting, didn't think we'd stand much chance without Ryan (btw, get well soon buddy)....But...To the Scorpions credit, they did the business. Lots to be pleased about...certainly lifted a bit of doom n gloom. Pijper, probably put in his best performance for Scunny..Alex Davies in fine form, chipped in with a few wins.. Wilko very impressive..Lunna did more than ok.. Special mentions for guest Josh Bates and new signing Zdenek Holub.. Josh 110% effort, that pass on Lindgren was pure class, this kid has come on brilliantly in the last year or so. Holub, looks like a real find, great effort for his first time round Scunny... much more to come hopefully. Newcastle, Lindgren apart, were pretty mediocre tonight... Perhaps understandably given they were also missing Lewis Kerr (wishing him all the best)....Great to see Tero, not only get up from that horrendous crash but to come out and win heat 14.. heroic.
Halifaxtiger
Good to hear this. Maybe the score was unjustly flattering. I wonder if Richie would have faired better than R/R had Somerset not been riding? Albert's mediocre description above is far more accurate and Newcastle only really did anything at the back end of the meeting. To be fair Aarnio's bike problems didn't help. Disappointed with the meeting. It was just pretty good instead of the brilliant I have usually come to expect.

However, no blame can be attached to the Scunthorpe promotion for it only being pretty good. Rob Godfrey put out a decent team despite so many injury disasters and the Newcastle team simply didn't respond well enough on this occasion. One thing does puzzle me and I assume it is an insurance or rain-off issue? Why do the gates never open at speedway before 6.30 pm on evening meetings? At least twenty people were at Scunny last night before 6pm. If they had gained entry at that time, they might well have been spending within the stadium on food, drink and in the track shop. June
Because Scorps got the win it was great! Both teams still deflated at the moment due to severe injuries. Get well soon Lewi, Henry, Ryan, Josh, and Ben. However The Scorps upped their game and produced a very good team performance...Welcome Zdenek to our team! got a win first time out on home track, more to come I'm sure! Theo brill what a score 15+2. A huge thanks to Josh Bates, he rode his socks off as our guest, so pleased there were quite a few from Sheffield to see him. He's come on since the days as a Scunny reserve. Pleased to see Tero again, so sorry to see him crash and go over the fence. He must be made of rubber to bounce back after that one and win ht 14. StevePark
Good to hear this. Maybe the score was unjustly flattering. I wonder if Richie would have faired better than R/R had Somerset not been riding? Would still have had to go with R/R for Christian and, with Simon only just back from illness, would have put more pressure on to the two reserves. As far as the Newcastle performance is concerned, do people not think that they will be thinking of Lewi? It has almost certainly got to affect them? To be honest, results don't particularly matter now. Let's get to the end of the season, re-group and come back in 2016. ruffdiamond
Totally agree Steve,,, we can still win the KO cup, and the 4's if its to be re-run, but the cup would be good to win, looking at the route it takes Edited August 8, 2015 by ruffdiamond
Paul Johnson
gates open about 6 .15pm when the girls and cark park guy get there, im one of those who get there just afer 6pm and wait for the gates to open, i believe if the gates opened at 5pm those same people would still be stood there, also there is plenty of time to get food and drink in that hour and a quarter to buy food did any one else notice the doll on the back of josh bates bike on the parade
