GregoryM
Take a bow Scott Nicholls.... Heat 13, inches from the safety fence, the match virtually won with Zagar in front and he produces 'the pass of the season'....! Absolutely couldn't agree more. Super Scotty Nicholls - the man simply just never gives up. OK, he might not score too many maximums anymore, but some folks have been saying he's not on form lately. Not sure where they get that from, the last three home matches he's notched 30 (paid 33) points. As for Poole doing a bit of 'average manipulation' last night - then that, if anything of the sort was going on, can only be considered as cheating the paying public including the hardy few Pirates fans at Kirky Lane last night. I'm not sure myself, I think Belle Vue were just too good for them on the night.

GoFastTurnLeft
Hopefully they keep the only 2 over 7 rule to stop this from happening as it's a disgrace if that's the case. It's the Elite League, it should have more elite riders in it. If the average restrictions were less strict, all teams would have access to more options. I agree with you that it would be a shame if it is average manipulation, but you'd also see less of that if the restrictions were relaxed. Admittedly I'm biased as I would like nothing more than us being able to get Ward without losing Holder or Magic. Mainly as I'm not sure I trust Ford to make Magic the priority he should be, but surely it's better for the league as a whole if it's not limited to 16 riders over 7? Although maybe finding more than 16 over 7 riders who actually want to race in the UK is a struggle, but that's its own problem.

As you pointed out later in your comment not enough riders want to ride here anyway so it's a fair and sensible rule to stop any one club keeping all the better riders. I miss the days of the strong EL, but sadly that's a thing of the past unless we make huge changes.
foreverblue
Poor show from the Pirates - small track syndrome again!! Looking at the EL table, Poole could yet lose 2nd place to Swindon who are still in pole position for the play-offs!! Matt has until 28th (by which date the 4 play-off teams should be known) to make changes if he wants to. Will he give Poole asset THJ permission to talk to another club before then?! Unless he can get Dudek on a 6 point average maybe letting THJ go on loan would not be the best thing to do. i am assuming these rolling averages cannot change before the 28th for team changes, is that correct? It could do for riders without an EL average & riding on an assessed average. I believe that changes after 8 rides.
Pirates Of Poole
No average changes will take place now, August averages are what Poole have to play with. Dudek? cant see that one happening would be 6.50.

Dudek? cant see that one happening would be 6.50. Dudek wasn't a serious suggestion, we can all see THJ in action tonight on eurosport, always thought his average is low for his ability and he certainly is a trier. If Dudek came in on a 6.50 he could be a Watt replacement. In all fairness i expect we will stay with our current line up now. foreverblue
Rather THJ than Peter Ljung.Lindback for Holder would be a possible. Edited August 4, 2015 by foreverblue

foreverblue
If Holder had ridden like he did tonight last night then me may have got a point.
