Belle Vue Aces V Poole Pirates 03.08.15

Recommended Posts

As always the usual suspects post a lot of cobblers on here just because Poole lost. In the grand scheme of things it's not that dramatic so feel free to enjoy your moment.

Our playoff spot is pretty much in the bag now (unlike BV's) and I for one am not overly concerned about who we meet as over 2 legs I fancy us to beat whoever we face. When we click as a team, we're unbeatable (like last Weds) but when we don't we get beat. It's that simple.

I have been pretty strong in my views about us not needing any changes and at home I still feel that's the case, it's our away form that concerns me - especially at the smaller tracks. And as for some of the names being posted on here...THJ  but Pawlicki or Little Leon :t:

I personally always feel more confident when we go to Belle Vue than any other track. Our riders love it.

You say about Garrity who is brilliant on your track but on our last visit he only scored 5 as gave Belle Vue a head start by breaking down in his first 3 rides. We had no Sarjeant through injury and also Joonas had bike problems all night scoring 2 and yet we still got the draw.

As for at home, Andersen scored a very poor 1point and we still won.

I have no doubt that IF Coventry stay top and Belle Vue make the play offs (which I hope they do) then we will pick them.

As the late Errol Flynn would say, "No doubt about it"

A surprisingly easy win for BV. I wonder why it was so easy?

Belle Vue are at least as good a team as Swindon, who beat them 50-42, so I'm not sure why your you're asking the question.

What is your explanation?

I hope so, don't really want to travel to Manchester for the play offs, a certain person would be still going on and on about how bad they are for the sport.

I think the travel would be only one of Poole's worries. The last time Poole won at Belle Vue was 2013. Belle Vue also got a draw at Poole this year.

I actually agree with this. BV are the last team I'd want in the play offs, personally I'd take coventry and hope for a poole v swindon final 👍

holder just put another nail in kasper s coffin...like matt said we cant carry passengers...unless its holder maybe hes manipulatin his ave to make it easier to fit MAGIC ward (well he can draw a crowd without a pencil)himself and 3 others next season

Hopefully they keep the only 2 over 7 rule to stop this from happening as it's a disgrace if that's the case.

THJ is not the answer

And is hardly ever the answer.

Poole are pretty much nailed on second place in the league, so could maybe afford a bit of average dropping, but too much would be a risk.

I can't see Holder getting down below 7 without them risking a top 2 spot, even if they do try and get him down to fit Darcy in next year.

Don't see why people get so outraged about it anyway, even if Poole do do it. If team strengths are dicted by averages, then it's a perfectly legitimate tactic to ride taking those into account as far as I can see.

Agree, if the teams are limited by average total it makes sense that once a meeting is won any more rides can result in scores of 1 or 0 to keep the average down. Riders have ridden well, increased their average and could then put themselves out of a team place the next year.

Poor show from the Pirates - small track syndrome again!!

Looking at the EL table, Poole could yet lose 2nd place to Swindon who are still in pole position for the play-offs!!

Matt has until 28th (by which date the 4 play-off teams should be known) to make changes if he wants to. Will he give Poole asset THJ permission to talk to another club before then?! ;)
