SteveLyric2
This could have an effect on the 4th place for the play offs. I can't see Poole giving away another 10 point lead, but then you never know. Both teams are set to track their full 1-7s, with Davey Watt moving up to 3rd heat leader in place of Dak North. I guess after the events at Peterborough today, that they may have an effect on Josh G who was involved in the Kerr crash and was said to be visibly upset - as were several of the other riders, including Cook and Neilsen who were in the same race. Hoping for a good, dry, injury-free meeting. Edited August 2, 2015 by Skidder1
mdmc82
Surely Josh is not going to be in the right frame of mind to race in this. Those at the stadium say he was beside himself and was in a state. Would a guest be granted though if needed in these circumstances? I think Poole should be able to get the win, esp as you said with some of Belle Vue's riders sadly shaken from today's accident. mikec
Was really looking forward to tomorrow night's match, decent weather forecast & two decent teams in action - with the Aces making an all too rare push for the end of season playoffs. But having heard about events at Peterborough it doesn't seem that important in the grander scheme of things. Hope all involved in the incident get the support they need - & above all that, that Lewis Kerr makes a full & speedy recovery.

acef
I can't imagine Josh would want to race tomorrow. I watched him for the aces last Wednesday, then I travelled over to watch him at Sheffield. He then went to Somerset Friday and down to Plymouth Saturday before Peterborough today. That's 5 consecutive days racing and a load of miles he is probably out of it now. With what happened today thrown in I can't imagine he would be in any state to ride. Tbh if I was BV I'd be telling him to have the day off.
mdmc82
Can now only predict a 4pt Poole win. Josh is not going to be in the right frame of mind to race (personally think he should be given tonight off and hope he's getting the support needed) Cook & Stefan were in the same race that the crash happened. Worrall is good friends with Kerr and was there with him racing in the same team and witnessed it so going to affect them tonight. However whatever the result seems immaterial at the moment, hard to enjoy speedway at this moment after yesterday's events. Hoping we hear something positive about Kerr soon Edited August 3, 2015 by mdmc82
lionheart
This was a much anticipated match, but the dreadful pile up at Peterborough yesterday involving BV riders, and the poor unfortunate Lewis Kerr have taken the shine off the meeting. I think that at least 3 of the Aces will be fit for very little tonight, assuming they all race. This being so, I think that Poole will win this by about 8 points, which I think will scupper the BV play-off hopes. This is of little import compared to the terrible situation with Lewis. Let us all hope that the lad comes through this ok asap, and that we continue to honour the riders for their bravery in bringing us the sport that we all love.
foreverblue
Personally i think all meetings in Britain should be suspended today.
GoFastTurnLeft
From what I could gather, Josh was understandably really shaken and unfortunately seemingly blaming himself for the accident. It is always horrible when something like this happens, and no matter what the result of this meeting, my thoughts (and I'm sure many other Speedway fans, regardless of club) are with Lewis Kerr and his family. I really can't see Josh being in a fit state to ride mentally. I think he needs a little time off and support. Under the circumstances, I'm sure the Aces will be fielding a replacement. As so many BV riders have a connection with the incident, postponing the meeting might be the fairest idea, if the scheduling allows for it. 65Sarge
Personally i think all meetings in Britain should be suspended today. I think everyone will agree with you there, but unfortunately the logistics of cancellation will be an expensive nightmare, and I have a feeling Lewis and his family would want speedway to continue? I just hope every meeting this week has a collection to help him financially during his recovery.
acef
It won't be postponed the club can't afford that As much as what happened to Lewis is horrible (and I wish him and his family well) it's speedway I'm afraid. It's dangerous and the lads know what the risks are. You can't drop fixtures based on this. It will hurt us tonight and I fully expect Poole to win and that will be the end of our play off hopes. As josh was directly involved I would give him the day off but no announcement so I'd imagine he's riding

hyderd
Would Lewis want this or any meeting suspended, I think not, speedway moves on and the best way for any rider to over come a serious accident as what happened yesterday, is to get back on your bike and ride. Everyone connected with our sport up and down the country will have thoughts for Lewis and as 65Sarg says hopefully all tracks will have a collection for Lewis and his family. Aces51
I was confident of an Aces victory. We have only dropped points to Coventry at home and they are a much tougher proposition at Kirky Lane with several track specialists. However, I'm not sure how the very unfortunate events of yesterday will affect Josh and maybe Craig and Stefan and that could now have a dramatic affect on the result. I'm sure that the thoughts and prayers of everyone at Belle Vue tonight will be with Lewis and his family. I'm sure we're all hoping for a full and speedy recovery. foreverblue
I think the Pirates were favourites for this meeting prior to yesterdays very sad events.
mdmc82
I think the Pirates were favourites for this meeting prior to yesterdays very sad events. I would disagree after their display at Wolves which is a much easier place to go and a poorer team. However I think it now has swung in their favour. Aces51
Not sure how you work that out. We pulled back a 10 point lead in the last home fixture at the end of June to win by 4 with the same line ups. We also drew at Poole.
Sotonian
Personally i think all meetings in Britain should be suspended today. I disagree. Riders don't like to dwell on incidents like this and prefer to get on with their racing.
