Alex2000
Whilst agreeing that everyones thoughts should be with Lewis, suggesting that meetings should be postponed is ridiculous. It would be time to close the sport down if that was the case. postponing for 1 day won't harm anyone will it? It's respectful and to dangerous for riders to ride if they are affected by yesterday Edited August 3, 2015 by Alex2000

BWitcher
So sorry our thoughts would affect your night out Doesn't affect my night out at all. Speedway is a very dangerous sport, we all know that and very sadly these things happen. The meeting yesterday was abandoned and I have no qualms regarding that. Now the sport goes on. Were any meetings postponed following Ricky Ashworth's crash? Genuine question as I honestly don't remember.
Star Lady
Lewis Kerr has, like many others I'm sure, never been far from my thoughts over the past 20 or so hours. I can see why people are saying cancel this meeting but unfortunately we have to live in a world where finance sadly dictates what happens. If the meeting were to be cancelled I don't doubt Wolves would still have to fork out stadium rent etc and cancellation fees for medical services etc. Riders would lose out on the air ticket already bought and paid for and so on. In an ideal world none of this would matter but sadly it does. I'm sure the two promotions have had discussions and decided that for many reasons it is best to go ahead. I have no idea what the riders think in this situation, but I would hope that if any of them felt unable to ride tonight (and this applies especially to those in the BV meeting) a facility would be granted without question. I've no idea what the Kerr family think about this meeting, tho in truth I doubt they have given it a thought, but surely people that love speedway as they do would not want any club to face possible financial ruin. If this sounds cold hearted I'm sorry, but I'm a realist. I understand that Lynn fans will not want to go to Monmore, but I sincerely hope all the fans that do attend will give both sets of riders the total respect and applause that every rider who swings a leg over a bike deserve. The result doesn't matter a jot, just let all the riders go home safe. My thoughts, as are everyones, are with Lewis Kerr and his family at this time. SteveLyric2
I am sure if Lewis was able to be asked, he would want the meeting to go ahead and for the Stars to win!!
speedcrazy
Just putting another slant on the calls for the meetings to be postponed tonight, whilst all our thoughts are with Lewis and his recovery , I do not remember meetings being called off the day after we lost Lee Richardson… RIP.

They weren't, I remember the next day meeting at wolves very well. Awful thing, but quite fitting given we were all gathered to remember. Speedway always has to carry on and any rider would say the same.
doctor
speedway is a dangerous sport if meetings were postponed after riders got injured then where would speedway be teams already struggle to finish before the dead line with rain offs . its up to each individual fan to make there mind up if they want to miss a meeting . has for postponing todays meetings did they postpone when lee richardson got killed ? has a wolves fan over 50 years i was at monmore when gary petersen died they did not postpone the blrc the day after although ole olsen did pull out i myself had brought tickets but gave them away and did,t attend monmore for severall weeks . hope lewis speedy recovery .and i do agree that if a rider is afected by lewis,s crash he should be allo wed to withdraw from tonights meetings just like ole did all those years ago. mdmc82
In answer to your question about lee Richardson and postponements, Yes Coventry did postpone their fixture against Lakeside the following day as a mark of respect http://www.coventrybees.co/news.php?extend.1871 Edited August 3, 2015 by mdmc82
SCB
What would Lewis want? I know if I was in an accident the last thing I'd want is for people to put lives on hold. So while I understand that some people care and feel it respectful, it may be an over reaction. As others have said, any rider who doesn't feel comfortable getting on a bike today would have my respect for saying so and having a night off. On to the meeting itself, I really hope Kings Lynn win. Nothing to do with it being vs Wolves tonight, I'd just love to see all Lewis' teams win in his absence
g13webb
Yesterday, at the scene of the accident, Kenneth Bjerre was totally destroyed and had to be consoled by those closest to him. If he were to pull out of the meeting today on companionate grounds , I can imagine the abuse he would receive.... I can't imagine any of the Lynn riders would choose to ride tonight...... Especially as Lewis is still in a coma and his condition unknown.....

tellboy
Why was Kenny Bjerre there? Because many riders go to meetings when they have nothing else better to do
pubichair
milik has been a let down since signing for us! Edited August 3, 2015 by hair
KLStars98
milik has been a rubbish signing! Knew ever since he pulled his cut out against Poole that he wasn't interested in helping Stars and only focusing on reducing his average. If we want to have any chance in play offs we need to replace him as he will be no good especially as an agent against Poole.
