mdmc82
Do you think then that the rule book allows for this example to happen BELLE VUE start the season with Zagar and Nicholls as the 7+ riders with Cook, Stead and Fricke.. However when Stead is injured Zagar and Nicholls are averaging 6.89 and 6.74 with Cook 6.22 and Fricke 4.71. With 9.54 left to get back to 34 can they drop Fricke now leaving 14.25 and sign Tai Woffinden 7.03 and Kenni Larsen 7.11 I have to say they couldn't as Zagar and Nicholls already are listed as the 7+ riders and even if Cook was averaging over seven, he is not listed as one. Yes unfortunately that is what can happen. that's why they have monthly team averages. Coventry are below the limit by 2 points. Just for example: if Hans left Coventry, he still couldn't be replaced by a 7+ rider as Coventry already have 2 in JK & Harris at THIS TIiME. However if JK left then Coventry could replace him with a 7+ as then they would only have Harris. Riders get a STARTING AVERAGE at the start of the year (sometimes inflated from riding at a lower number the previous year) they then get a rolling average end of every month and that becomes their new average. Some riders hit great form and improve it like Magic or Doyle whilst others have a terrible time like Lindgren and their new average reflects that. It really is all in the regulations if you have another read of point 2.
SteveLyric2
If you replace only one rider, then you can do that on a like-for-like basis ie a rider with a slightly lower average (or slightly higher if still within 34 points). This applies even if the team has 3 x 7 pointers. If you replace 2 or more riders at the same time, this is RE-DECLARING your 1-7, which must still be within the 34 point (1-5) limit and can only have 2 x 7+ pointers. BWitcher
Why do I think this is right ...... because this has been told to me by two people that should know. So? It doesn't matter what people tell you, what matters is the RULES. Sheffield learned that to their cost.
Wolfsbane
Yes Morris can have a guest according to his average but he is not counted as a 7+ rider when changes are made and as long as the team is 34.00 or lower or the rider coming in has a lower average than the rider being replaced then a team can have more than two riders averaging over seven. EXAMPLE; Dakota North 7.97, Chris Holder 7.18, Maciej Janowski 6.98, Davey Watt 6.32, Kacper Gomolski 4.54 = 32.99 Krzysztof Kasprzak 7.96 wants to return so Poole apply to bring him back. They can't bring him in for Dakota North as it would mean they have KK, Janowski and Holder as 7+ riders from the starting CMA's They can have a guest for North in these examples but can only bring KK in with these averages to replace Janowski to give them KK and Holder as 7+ riders. Why do I think this is right ...... because this has been told to me by two people that should know. PS; Happy 29th Birthday to your sister I hope one of them wasn't Adams
foreverblue
Not sure why you are asking that, I'm already sold on meetings between the top two which mean something so I can't be bothered to go back through the updates and threads to find out. If it's a serious question then I'm sure you could find the answer but, fwiw I can't remember a pock final that hasn't been seriously disrupted or spoilt by rain, so I'll go for 10. Two teams have already qualified which has only leaves three mediocre mid table teams with the excitement you referred to, the top two have nothing to race for except for' top'. See below for the reason why I'm not going to ask you what the point of that is. Despite the 'excitement' the effect on the attendance at Belle Vue for the last two meetings has been nil. I am baffled by that as both the Wolves and lakeside meetings were crucial pokc qualifiers and I was certainly more interested but if it doesn't bring in extra fans then what exactly is the point? That isn't a rhetorical question by the way, I've asked you before what's the point in something that doesn't bring extra fans in and you just ignored it for some reason. Impossible to tell the real number but at least two world class riders have admitted to testing on national TV, both in crucial meetings for a top place would you believe! If you are talking about injuries like Simon Stead's then fair enough, I don't think any other team has lost a 7 point rider for the whole season. On the whole though injuries and bad luck do even out throughout a league season compared to cup competition hence the phrase 'cup shock' and not league shock. All league meetings are affected by rain sometimes, i only remember one final that was affected by rain but like you i cant be bothered to trawl through them all to find out. Anyway bring on the playoffs for six meetings of all out racing that you dont always get in league meetings especially if they are affected by rain! SCB
Very harsh! Of course they were in one, Coventry turned them over.. Was it rain effected though? I think it did rain at BV during the 2nd leg. Around about heat 5 or 6 just before Morten Risagers blast around bends 1 and 2.
