It's great to be working closely with the nice people of Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd on our forthcoming Memories of Berwick Speedway DVD.

The Border country club, like most other tracks, is finding it tough going (see other thread in PL section), so we'd urge you to do all you can to support them between now and the end of the season - and beyond. It's a very well established track that was in at the beginning of the old BL 2 in 1968 and the sport can't afford to lose them.

Susie and I are really looking forward to our first visit to Shielfield Park for the DVD launch on Saturday, August 29 (v Workington Comets) and it will be good to meet new people from that part of the UK.

Worth noting that the Bandits' e-Newsletter tells folk that, if they buy this dvd at the track on September 29th -- or from the Track Shop at a subsequent meeting -- the Berwick club will benefit financially from the sale.

In these days of worry over the club's future every penny earned will be vital, so if possible, Berwick supporters should buy it at the track, rather than by post, when the club won't get a kick-back.

A REMINDER that a brand new DVD with special appeal to Bandits followers will be launched at their home Premier League match against Workington on Saturday, August 29.

Retro Speedway is producing a six-hour DVD set titled MEMORIES OF BERWICK SPEEDWAY.

The triple disc set costs just £16 and Berwick Speedway will benefit by £6 from every copy sold at Shielfield Park, so by buying the DVD you will be directly helping the club.

The same bonus for the Bandits will also apply to any other Retro Speedway DVD sold at Shielfield Park on the night.

Every person who buys a DVD will also receive a FREE copy of Backtrack magazine (RRP £4), featuring strong Berwick content.

There are NINE former individual speedway World Champions featured racing at Berwick on our new DVD, plus a 10th competing against the Bandits on his home track.

For a bit of fun, who will be the first to name all nine (or 10) correctly...?

It would be great to meet up with the 'Speedway Family' at Berwick this coming Saturday night for the launch of our brand new Memories of Berwick Speedway DVD.

The triple disc, six-hour set costs just £16 and containing dramatic footage of countless races from the Bandits' two homes - at Berrington Lough and their current location of Shielfield Park.

Anyone who buys a copy of the DVD from Susie and Tony Mac at Berwick on Saturday will receive a free copy of Backtrack magazine, PLUS automatic entry to a free raffle prize draw where you could win a framed copy of the first ever Berwick programme for the opening meeting on May 18, 1968.

The winner and two runners-up in the draw will also receive Retro Speedway goodie bags containing DVDs, a book and magazines.

So this is another good reason to visit Berwick for the Bandits' home Premier League match against Workington Comets on Saturday (Aug 29) at 7.00pm.

Latest weather forecast for the Berwick region on Saturday is good!

What spoils this DVD collection is there is no mention or any track action of one of the best riders to wear Berwick's colours namely Doug Wyer, there is an early team photo but blink and you will miss it.

Spoils six hours of entertaining Berwick coverage for just £16? Really? Christ, we must start offering better value.

We would love to have included footage of Doug racing for Berwick but we don't believe that any exists.
