Belle Vue, Kings Lynn Or Swindon For 3rd/4th Spot

Is that an apology?

What do I have to apologise for? I was right, if he was in a FIM Europe meeting it would be no guest. If anyone owes anyone an apology its DunRobin owes me an apology for telling me to "get real" when I point this out.

Maybe if Swindon had just told everyone in the first place it was a Czech League meeting then it would have avoided the whole discussion about it being dodgy and someone posting it was because he was in an FIM Europe meeting - as he was the next day.

You said (in post #182 above) - "God only knows how they managed to get away with it". Get away with what - they did nothing wrong and I didn't see any IF in your statement - so your statement was incorrect ie wrong therefore you should apologise for casting unsubstantiated aspersions!!

I didn't cast any unsubstantiated aspersions, someone made a post on here and I have correctly pointed out that if it was true and he was riding in an EUM/FIM Europe meeting them no facility should be allowed. I stand 100% by everything I have said as it's all 100% true.

Flipping good on BV for not letting our riders guest for play off rivals.

How anyone can argue with that is beyond me. Absolutely and completely the right thing to do.

In a league of 8 teams with so few riders & clubs reluctant to run with R/R especially for their 4th or 5th rider in the averages because then that would mean extra rides for the reserves so guests are more important now than ever.

I just hope Belle Vue are paying their riders for the loss of income.

Sense of humour?

Its a statement of fact that the current tactical system is the 'fairest' it has ever been.

Do I like it? No I don't, but that's a different issue.

The play-off race is certainly an exciting one, Swindon have picked up much more than I expected.

I suppose we'll agree to disagree on whether the current rule is the fairest - or perhaps I can't see the wood for the trees on your use of ' ' around fairest.

I do, though, certainly agree with you about the underlined points.

I think Belle Vue are missing a dodgy trick here (again!).

When Swindon let one of their riders guest for us he 'mysteriously' only scored 2 from 5 rides and failed to beat an opponent, by far his worst 'effort' at lakeside.

It's a bit underhanded and not really in the spirit of fair play (lol!) though is it?

Please get your facts right as Zengota has always been poor at Lakeside & maybe you should look at your promotion for booking a guest on his least favourite British track.

His score for Swindon their last week was his best score by miles at Lakeside since he rode here.

It's not something to agree or disagree on, it's not opinion. The current 'tactical' system is the fairest it has ever been. No if's or buts about it.

As said before, still prefer the old system though.

Doesn't that sum it all up - 8 JUST 8 teams and there aren't enough riders. Injuries aside, it is getting beyond a joke and approaching the point where it doesn't really matter to me who wins the Elite League. There'll have been so many 'false' results due to riders missing through the doubling up rule, riders allegedly going awol, the double points rule and the guest rider rule regulations 'manipulating' who actually teams can book as a guest anyway.

I actually enjoy watching a speedway match and try to put out of my mind how the teams have been cobbled together for the night - if it I couldn't then I wouldn't bother going.

As for the league table....its a work of mysterious fiction.

LOL!

Three facts, 1. He scored 2 from 5. 2. He failed to beat an opponent. 3. By far his worst effort at lakeside.

His best score by 'miles' was only 3 points more than his second best which miles and miles better than his score for Belle Vue wasn't it?

The more you look at it the more 'mysterious' it gets.

Just a thought, but maybe Zengi returned his best ever (and much improved) score at Lakeside because his new teammate (Ward) has Lakeside totally sussed and helped him with machinery set ups and lines?

Say what you like about Ward, but he appears very helpful and inspirational to his team mates.

I don't know, but given his history at Lakeside, it was always a very questionable decision by the Belle Vue management to book him (Zengi).

I wouldn't waste your breath as Morton & Gordon have a history of booking guests on tracks they don't perform at.

You have it spot on that Zengi benefitted riding in the same team & same races as Darcy but then that wouldn't fit into a conspiracy theory would it!.
