Rob B
If Kings Lynn win tomorrow and Swindon win on thursday as they should then Belle Vue have to win at Wolves to have any hope which they could do but maybe Wolves won't be such an easy touch at home. If Kings Lynn win both their home meetings Belle Vue can't catch them, we need Swindon to win tomorrow but looking unlikely now
ouch
The annoying problem with The Aces and they have done this for years even when at the foot of the table, is their capacity to be just bad enough to miss out on match points. In seven matches this year if they had scored just nine well placed race points they would have a further nine match points. The nine race points would make little to no difference to the team average but those match points would see us battling for first not sweating on fourth. I'd love to knowvif other teams have such a ratio of race to match points lost, to such a degree as us.
mdmc82
The weather could play a big part with rain offs this week and last week. There was a pre AGM yesterday where promoters were discussing having the cut off dates and play offs put back a bit to allow for fixtures to be completed in time & not so close together. Crazy robin
With so many free weeks during the season it seems amazing that some meetings might not get ran.
waiheke1
Aces fan, but really couldn't care less now who makes it. Would happily miss out on a play off spot and see poole win it in exchange for some good news re Darcy.
A ORLOV
They can't delay as riders will be leaving for the Aussie gp. They could run the semi home and away in the same week, bringing the playoffs down to two weeks instead of the three they have at present, which have already been cut down from four they have had previously. SPEEDY69
I think Belle Vue will miss out. Swindon are odds-on and Lynn have booked another teams No.1 to replace a mediocre middle order man so should continue their home streak, which will see them gain enough points. Lynn to finish on 54, Swindon on 53 and Belle Vue on 50 It's looking even more likely now that the Aces will be fifth.

C We have been an easy touch for 2/3rds of the season so it will be the Aces to lose. I hope Belle Vue win and get all 4 points, but I wouldn't put money on it.
lionheart
TBH I think that BVs chances were blown in the farce at Leicester on 20th June. On that night Zagar insulted everyone's intelligence (But especially BVs management) by tootling around for a total of 1 point. What made it worse, the former track record holder, and Beaumont Park specialist Craig Cook managed to amass a total of 3 points. A certain 4 league points thrown away by two riders. How Zagar survived this I do not know. I lost all respect for Zagar, and most of my respect for Gordon, and Morton, despite Mortons great history with BV. I would not give Zagar house room at BV in 2016, and Cook would be in doubt.
SPD444
I think with any team in any sport you could find "if only" situations which had they turned out differently would have meant promotion/relegation or winning/losing. Thats why we love sport. As far as Belle Vue is concerned it has felt terrific to have something to look forward too at the end of the season rather than being at the bottom. This Aces team is a good team and they are all tryers, well almost ( sometimes ). Really enjoyed this season other than the injuries to riders and looking forward to the new stadium. God bless, Darcy.

He may have done and at least it showed he recognised his failure but coupled with Cooks 3 pts still meant no points for the Aces of course
arnieg
So if the weather or something unexpected doesn't scupper the chances of King's Lynn and Swindon then Belle Vue won't make the play-offs. Which begs the question: Will Sunday's match be the last ever match at Kirky Lane?
Aces51
So if the weather or something unexpected doesn't scupper the chances of King's Lynn and Swindon then Belle Vue won't make the play-offs. Which begs the question: Will Sunday's match be the last ever match at Kirky Lane? Could be and most likely will be although a Swindon win at King's Lynn could rekindle our play off chances. At the moment no mention of a farewell to Kirky Lane meeting and difficult to see what type of meeting would draw a sufficient number of fans. Many will just be pleased to see the back of it.
Phil The Ace
Didn't philtheace state on here that zagar gave back his match fee for that fixture because of how he had ridden? lionheart
Yes he did and yes the money was accepted back by promotion I wonder how much he repaid the promotion, and the rest of the team for having ruined the chances of a couple of lucrative play off matches
Aces51
I wonder how much he repaid the promotion, and the rest of the team for having ruined the chances of a couple of lucrative play off matches Of course you could equally say that if it wasn't for some of his outstanding performances we wouldn't even be in with a chance of the play offs. It is more realistic to assess his performance when you have actually been there and seen the effort he puts in. Just a minor example but anyone who saw him run onto the track to try to get Cook going when he was excluded for exceeding the 2 minutes in the Swindon match could see clearly his commitment to the Aces. TheSmiler
Coventry aren't even certain now, with another fixture postponed. If by the highly unlikelihood all their fixtures end up off before the cut off, there is a very slim chance they would miss out. I know it won't happen but just makes you think what if. Belle Vue claim 4 tonight to go above on 53 Swindon claim 2 more league points to go above on 53 Kings Lynn win their remaining fixtures to go above on 58. Coventry would be left on 52. Like I said, HIGHLY unlikely but this is now a 4 team race for the final 3 spots. Edited August 31, 2015 by Adam Vickers

Very unlikely that we won't pick up 1point from our remaining 4 meetings. If we couldn't then there would be no point us being in the play offs. Even if we were to miss out on points Wed or Thur against Swindon, I can see us getting points at home to Lakeside and Leicester Edited August 31, 2015 by mdmc82
