Coventry V Kings Lynn Fri 31st July 2015

Recommended Posts

Swindon took a huge leap towards the playoffs today while Lynn's point will help. Puts Pressure on BV now to get a result away - or for Lynn and/or Swindon to mess up at home.

Coventry need a decent rider at number 2, just 3 or 4 from them 3 rides would have made tonight a lot more comfortable.

And it could be said that if Porsing & Lambert had delivered a few more expected points it could easily been a comfortable away win.

After tonight, I'm not sure Coventry will be to sure on who to pick for the Play-Offs if they get that choice.

If you think KL look good for third then that explains why you thought wolves were a play off team this year

Both Swindon and BV are reeling them in and it's 2 from those 3 in the play offs - KL may yet falter!

Stars are safe.

So sack Lambert then ;) I don't think you'll get anyone better - Coventry can be made better by signing someone decent to rider a #2. When you consider we can replace Robbo (Summers tonight) with someone of Lamberts standard....

I think we're pretty safe for top 4 but not necessarily 3rd. Same meetings run as Belle Vue with 8 points clear. We've 2 home fixture yet with Leicester which pretty much guarantee another 6 points

Well deserved point for Lynn, if Rob had been well and Nicklas ridden like Lynn on Weds we may have got more. Was great to see Ashley and Ken racing well.

Our boys coped better with the dodgy old track at the start of the meeting, the Cov track staff did more prep to the track during the meeting than I bet they did before!

Always enjoy sidecar speedway but someone tell me why the paramedics were off the track during the races? They got caught out too, thank goodness the guy was okish!

Safety. All the track staff moved to outside the fence (but still immediately available) - an out-of-control chair careering across the centre 'green' can do a lot of damage!

Its too early to call yet !!, Not only, was I pleased we got a point last night, but also the distribution of points was far better than I expected. Niels, Ashley Morris and Lewis Kerr all scored well, Milik and KB battled hard for their valuable input. The only sub-standard point collected were from Porsing and Lambert. Lambert usually rides Brandon well so will put it down to the injuries he carrying, whereas Porsing never goes well there. That a shame as he's really improved of late and I was hoping he'd carry that form with him when riding away matches. Unfortunately that didn't happen.....

Considering the matches we have left to play, I believe Lynn will comfortably finish in the top 4. I also think the final positions will be a lot closer than it looks at the moment. Coventry have only 6 matches left and 3 of those are against Swindon. Those results will have a big bearing on the positions of the final four........

Poole could easily finish on top to have that all important choice. They have 7 matches to play with 4 of those at home. Two of those against Belle Vue, could make or break the Aces challenge.....

Like I say, Too early to call Yet.......

I wondered if that was the reason but it didn't seem right, that's not always been the rule for sidecars has it?

In the past at Swindon, staff used to be on the centre green during sidecar racing but as Neil says they are more dangerous, if they collide they can bounce off each other and career across the centre green where as speedway bikes just tend stay on the track.

Wouldn't the "podium" in the middle have been safe enough?

Did I see / hear that Gary Snooks was there last night?

Neil are there any changes afoot

Guests are definitely not going to be enough to cover Robson if he's out for most of the month. We were lucky to still win last night with only 1pt scored at number 2. A 28day replacement would be a much better idea.

there was an incident at coventry probably 5 years back were the sidecar crashed through the start area, sending marshalls running for cover.

sidecars are hilariously dangerous!

Yes would need to take a good advantage to the second leg to stand any chance

Sarg is a concern, gone right off form with playoffs around the corner

Need to make a change for Robbo and use the available points

Is Sarjeant still carrying an injury? (I'm interested as I have him in one of my Fantasy teams!) Or is it simply that he has been 'found out' for his rolling starts - a bit like Hans - and more referees are keeping a check on it.?

After spending 2 1/2 hours on the M25, it was well worth the hassle to see a crowd like the "old days" and a terrific match. Having seen Jason Garrity's heroics on Monday (nearer to home), it was unbelievable that he did the same last night. I hope James returns to form soon as he is also a great lad. The team spirit in 2014 and 2015 has been amazing. A great team is one where if one or two riders have an off night, others will make up for it. Well done, a great win.
