Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 29/7/15

Recommended Posts

Ref had two decisions to make all night (Heats 8 & 12) and got both wrong. Wright should have gone in Heat 8 and Starke should have gone in Heat 12.

Great to see so many people there last night. Meeting was OK (racing really only got going after the interval, although Heat 1 was an intriguing battle), but the large crowd created a good atmosphere.

All the best

Rob

There were a few whispers going around last night after Kacper's celebratory laps that it could have been his farewell?! I hope not.

If it is Kacper to be replaced then MF has 5.15 to play with from August 1st. His programme notes - as with his BBC interview - suggest that IF he is to make a change then 'there are options open to us - those options are riders not currently in the EL but ones which would excite our supporters'!?

If its Dak that is to miss out then we have 6.04 to play with......!

Update: I note on twitter/facebook that Kacper has picked up a new sponsor in Poole so looks like he will be staying.

I wouldn't read too much into Gomolski's celebration. He loves showing off for the crowd, always has done. I've seen him racing around popping wheelies when everyone else was still doing practice starts at the beginning of the meeting. He doesn't need an excuse.

Besides it was probably more of a celebration of his night as a whole.

I've made my opinion of Dak elsewhere on here, it hasn't changed. All of our riders have had rough patches this year, all have bounced back. I see no reason why Dak can't do the same. He always gives 100% effort and he has talent, I have faith he'll come good.

I honestly can't see how Matt Ford can improve the team under the current averages right now. He runs the risk of doing more harm than good imo

I got shot down for daring to suggest Poole would walk it and that Swindon are gash away from home.

Did you? I had a quick look back and saw some jokey replies to you saying that but don't think anyone was being serious. I think you are making things up. At the end of the day we aren't good enough for the play offs and we are sh1te away from home. I don't think you will find 1 Swindon fan on here who doesn't agree with that.

The only thing us Swindon fans are bragging about is you thinking your lot were a better team than us because you won a couple of meetings in April. Its funny seeing someone so wrong.

So you should have been for telling untruths

You must have been so proud of the boys last night.

That's the spirit, keep the faith and belief you are good enough for the play offs.

Well done to Poole on beating an average side last night.

WTF are you on? How on earth have you taken that from what I said in the previous post?

Do you think he supports Swindon!?:rofl:

Well done to the Pirates on a solid performance and well done to the Swindon fans who accepted the defeat with a bit of grace.

And Alun Rossiter who was very gracious in defeat. The banter in the pits between him and Neil and the Swindon promotional team was really good to see. Winding eachother up. We maybe the closest thing to a local derby now, but it was played out in the best of spirits and atmosphere. Speedway at its best :t:

I've seen the video of the Newman/Wright incident and it was incredibly harsh on Newman. Was hit twice by Wright and was sent to the fence.

Yes but Kyle had locked up & was the cause of the incident as Wright could not avoid him. It doesn't matter who hit who, it's what caused the incident that counts. Typical Poole re-action, their riders can do no wrong, it's always the other teams fault.

if you watch the video wright hits newman twice as has been said, the first time is what caused him to lock, so wright caused the incident, but tbf to swindon starke took wright off in ht 12 imo

If you think Woz is a Poole fan, you'll get a bit of a surprise when you check which team he supports...

Poole should be made by the BSPA/SCB to paint the whiteline then the ref may see riders putting 2 wheels over the whiteline. In his 1st race DN did it twice in the same spot virtually opposite the pitgate though he gained no advantage.

Also why do they open the pitgate as the winner crosses the line, accident waiting to happen methinks

. The boys on the pit gate are very experienced and have been doing that job for many many years now. As for the white line, yes it does get painted but it wears quickly, the only other solution we thought of is using chalk dust or getting the council to use proper white paint, but you cannot use chalk dust for obvious reasons untill the boys have completely finished preping the track. But that is the responsability of the boys that do the track.

Its time, and like most track nowdays we don't have the Voluntary capacity.

I said the exact same thing to my father but didn't want to say it on here as the usual suspects will pounce on it! I hope not too.

I personally think our current 1-7 can get the job done :t:

Yep i always said the same thing to, but we do need to be a bit more consistant right through the team.

Is everybody in Poole so self-interested that they cannot get volunteers. At the Abbey they have team of about 5/6 volunteers every Thursday, meeting or no meeting who maintain the track & fences, digging in new drains, new access for the Sky broadcast cables, etc., etc. Look up the Blunsdon Blog, you may find it very interesting.
