Poole Pirates Vs Swindon Robins 29/7/15

Recommended Posts

How many in attendance?

I ran out of fingers and toes sorry. :) But bigger turnout than the finals last year by my eye.

You can see all the way from peterborough mate ?? Thats awesome !!

At the risk of sounding dumb, I don't follow, Peterborough?

Was a more comfortable win than I expected, but fun night out, atmosphere was good. Aside from the shocking refereeing I have no complaints.

F*ck me we are collapsing quicker than Stevebrum's hope and dreams for the 2015 Wolves side!

mine have already gone, won't be long before the Robins dreams are finished. Beating Wolves has given you false belief. It's clear against sides much better than Wolves the Robins are fodder.

Will there be an Elite League next year ?

without question yes.

42-48 is my prediction - Swindon have 4 heat leaders in the top 5

Should be a breeze for the Pirates.

The easiest prediction I've made this week. Was never in doubt.

What a great meeting that was!! Fastest heat times of the season again! Poole looking very strong - even Dak who had bike problems in his first 3 heats was not far off the pace. No-one could live with Holder and Janowski.

Well done too Agent Ward, the first part of your 2015 mission is complete. We will see you in 3 weeks for part 2. :D:P (Just for the conspiracy theorists!)

Terrific atmosphere and only one (very) poor refereeing decision - in heat 8 by Tony Steele.

What do you mean poor decision?

I thought they had cancelled bingo night tomorrow or changed the pension rules after the whole stand erupted. Steele got it absolutely spot on. Wright in front, Newman locked up and out of shape, what's wrong with that?

What Poole fans know about speedway can be written on a postage stamp 😋😉😊

I said the same in the pits, i thought Kyle would get excluded, and unfortunately, he did. But the crash has not done his bike many favours.

Community Shields hardly count surely...

Arsenal last won the League Title in 2003/4 I believe, Chelsea have won it 4 times since then...

So let's hope we can compare Rosco with Jose before too long :t:

A 'specialist in failure' :approve:

after seeing the video on fb and twitter you two need to have a rethink it shows newman in front and getting hit twice by wright.(but in starmans case he will probably side with the somerset rider anyway).

appears from poole's point of view a great meeting, were swindon bad or poole good, unfortunately probably wont get an unbiased opinion. still think swindon can get into playoffs with the matches in hand.

Although I thought Poole would win, I expected a much closer affair than that. This was not what Rosco wanted, and come play-off time he will want better than that shown last night.

After watching Darcy on the tele Tuesday night, when he was awesome, was surprised he failed to win a single race....

That's the way it is sometimes....

I agree the margin of victory was surprising, with Zengota doing so well at wolves i was expecting a good score from him, Swindon are a decent team in my view and they will come back to make the play offs. Good to see Darcy racing again. Tonight showed Norths max against wolves was a fluke and if we win the play offs it will be in spite of him, should have dropped him by now.

I've seen the video of the Newman/Wright incident and it was incredibly harsh on Newman. Was hit twice by Wright and was sent to the fence.

Exactly what I saw. I was amazed Kyle got excluded, but was equally amazed that Charles Wright got up after hitting the air fence as hard and fast as he did!! Tough cookies these speedway riders and full respect to each and every one of 'em.

p.s. Kyle got his own back in heat 12 ;)

As for the meeting itself, thoroughly enjoyable. Highlights for me were Noddy looking just like his old self, very fast all night and Magic was untouchable once again. And I'm sure all the Gomolski haters are eating some humble pie today too! Not quite sure why he was celebrating after pulling a third in heat 14 though...

As for Darcy, he too looked fast but just wasn't as quick as our top two and Hans managed to pull things together for his last two rides.

All in all a damn good nights racing with a huge crowd! :t:

Do you think he supports Swindon!?:rofl:

Well done to the Pirates on a solid performance and well done to the Swindon fans who accepted the defeat with a bit of grace.

Nothing but positives from last night.

Holder & Janowski on fire.

Watt just does what he does at No.2 and that's winning races.

Dak struggled a bit...But we still won easily...Dak is getting a lot of Heat 15s lately.

Gomolski.......Very impressed with his score....Kacper over achieved...Done well last week as well

Newman & Starke are the strongest reserve pairing in the league in my opinion

As i have said previously nothing wrong with Kacper he tries so hard in every race and got a decent return last night.

I believe last weeks score against Wolves flattered North and why he was in heat 15 i have no idea except we didn't need the points. In my view you should always have the strongest riders on the night in heat 15 regardless of the scoreline.

Garrity and Sargeant are the strongest reserve pair in my opinion but Newman and Starke are a close second.

North proved last night he is nowhere near his early season form and his average is in freefall, no idea why but it cannot continue, we need all our riders riding well in the play offs.

There were a few whispers going around last night after Kacper's celebratory laps that it could have been his farewell?! I hope not.

If it is Kacper to be replaced then MF has 5.15 to play with from August 1st. His programme notes - as with his BBC interview - suggest that IF he is to make a change then 'there are options open to us - those options are riders not currently in the EL but ones which would excite our supporters'!?

If its Dak that is to miss out then we have 6.04 to play with......!

I said the exact same thing to my father but didn't want to say it on here as the usual suspects will pounce on it! I hope not too.

I personally think our current 1-7 can get the job done :t:

No he didn't, he rode to his ability which is far and away better than his average - just like he did last week which you point out yourself Look at his scores on the continent too. Gomolski is a bit of an enigma...but he's committed and a trier.

I hope not too i like him a real trier who has scored well lately and who could we get that's any better on his average and in my view that would be a big risk, losing North from the team is less of a risk as he clearly isn't riding well and a top PL rider like Brady Kurtz could do a better job.
