orion
That is of course very true but short-sighted because dedicated supporters tend not to want to miss any match if at all possible!! Not at all if a fan was dedicated would watch as much speedway as possible ..I also doubt a dedicated fan would he got great value for money because there were 10 heats rather nine .
SCB
If they're going to run heat 10 on a soaked track, they should run 11,12,13,14 and 15 too. Â Like they did at Poole in the semi final last year!
remembertheracers
To hold any parade with the threat of rain is ludicrous. Speedway meetings should start on time - in reality few do, and I hold my hands up and say Reading and Swindon are/were bad on this. No other sport delays starts regularly, Poole did tonight with a few dozen late AND an above average crowd. That is rude to those who get there in good time. Â And though he is from Reading David Robinson should be dropped from the referee;s panel. He is hopeless, vindictive and incompetent Edited July 29, 2015 by remembertheracers

THAT is what i'm disputing because dedicated speedway supporters rarely choose to miss a match if at all possible!!! Obviously nobody had value for money tonight whether 9 or 10 heats were completed.but at least they wouldnt have to spend even more on the restaging IF a result had been declared after 10!!! The queues were out to the main road at one point. Biggest crowd at Poole since the last big crowd! Â PS a good night for the SRBF collection too! scottrocks
I think most Lynn fans would have been far more satisfied had the meeting got to heat 10, rather than wasting money on fuel, food, tickets etc for a meeting where the result didn't stand. If they want to see this meeting get a result, they will have to pay another £16 to get in again!! As people have said, it looked doubtful Leicester would have got anything from this meeting anyway. A heat works out about £1.10 so at least £6 should be given off the restaging, for goodwill.
Trees
The rule has to be ref's decision, ABSOLUTELY NO racing in rain or decision by both teams to carry on or not.

If you were loyal fan first of all you were know that a match should be call off if the track is unfit to race on ..what heat that is should not matter when it comes to riders being safe . Also a loyal would know that if they paid there money to get in that if a match is called off before heat 10 then the match will be re run at a later date . As has already been said fans want it both ways the other week they up in arms that matches are being rush to get 10 ten heats in now they want 10 heats to race no matter what the state of the track is as long as they get a result . speedwaysliders
iLL most proberly get shot down for saying this ,but im sick and tired meetings being pushed through so they can get a result if 10 heats are raced. For once i think the ref Dave Robinson had the bulls to get down to the pits and make the decision ,which was to call a halt.So many times ive been at meetings when they just completely rush through to get to heat 10 as fast as possible at all costs, sometimes its just a blur as to what ive paid good money to watch.then once they get to heat 10 they either mess about or call the meeting off straight away.I want to go to a meeting, have a beer, after a days work and enjoy the meeting. In my mind theres nothing worse then rushing through a meeting at supersonic speed.Well down to Dave Robinson in running the meeting as it should be and then making the decision to call a halt regardless of which heat we are at.

arnieg
On threads over previous controversial rain-offs the widely held view of most posters is that the match should be called off when the track is unfit to ride - not after heat 10 when it is convenient for the winning team and/or promoter. Â That appears to be what happened here, and yet there is endless whinging. I know Dave Robinson is not everybody's favourite referee, but all he has done here is what the referee is supposed to do: make a decision about whether it is safe to continue the meeting.
g13webb
Let me first explain, I detest the 10 ht rule and feel its just a rip-off, invented to be exploited whenever possible.. It is my belief a meetings can be called off at any time if the situation becomes necessary, and award Points and Refunds on a percentage basis of the meeting done. ie. 'Meeting called a halt after ht 7 then Half points are awarded to the winning team and the punter gets half his money Refunded'. But that is not the way its done, and meetings will be rushed through to get to that cut-off point. What happened last night was not about VFM, it was not about right or wrong, it was not even about the inconsistency of the decision makers. To me it was one person making a decision with scant regard for anything, least of all the sport.. He had no thought for the 2000 fans, He made no allowance for the problem of reorganising a rerun of the fixture. The problems his decision has created is ridiculous. caused by his lack of responsibility to the people that employ him. Â Â That appears to be what happened here, and yet there is endless whinging. I know Dave Robinson is not everybody's favourite referee, but all he has done here is what the referee is supposed to do: make a decision about whether it is safe to continue the meeting. Â Only one man complained about the track condition at that time. Had Mr Dave Robinson ( Ref) been as efficient as some then the meeting would have be concluded. We are talking about an extra 1 min of racing, for this meeting to have reached an amicable end. Yet Mr Robinson decided to go walkabouts, so he could talk with the rider concerned. The amount of time wasted talking to the riders, inspecting the track we could have run another 3 or 4 races..... Â No this was a wicked example of how a meeting should not run, Inevitable heavy Rain forecast, Late meeting start, Pointless riders parade, Slow procedure of heats , No urgency shown through-out. Lack of competition, No appreciation shown to the fans.... Â No one who was at that meeting would support the Ref on the way he did his job, It wasn't the fact the meeting was called off, but how he ignored the three riders on the track just because one rider refuse to ride. When time was of the essence, he wasted precious time leaving his post. In the end with the rain falling the decision was inevitable....... Woz01
The SCB official did there job last night by making a decision and sticking to it. Complete opposite to what happened at Coventry where they made a decision then went back on it.
E I Addio
Very true, and its great to have an extra meeting to go too As a matter of interest, what happens to season ticket holders when there is an extra meeting due to rain cancellation ? Do they get an extra meeting "free" in contrast to the pay at the gaters, or do they have to pay something ?

Just Kings Lynn fans whinging because they didn't get the win.  The time was 7 seconds slower in the previous heat and that was the winner, thats not speedway.  It's quite clear that you just wanted 1 more race and then it to be called off, EVERYTHING that is wrong and has been wrong with the sport.  The updater told us one of your riders was totally uninterested in Heat 9, I guess that is value for money.  Would Kings Lynn still have wanted to continue after Heat 10? Damn right they wouldn't.  As I have said previously, the scoreline at the time is irrelevant... if the track has severely detiorated the meeting should be halted. BWitcher
If racing had started at 7.30, we would have been to ht 13.  Why was there a parade? Why was the track watered after the parade?  The black clouds were looming, surely getting race started should have been a priority.  None of which is the fault of the referee. It seems Kings Lynn's fans are venting their anger in the wrong direction.
