Is Woffinden The Best 1st/2nd Bend Rider In The World?

Recommended Posts

When Tai won the title how many of us believed Emil would of gone on and won the title ?I think he would of if not for injury, but that is speedway the ups/ downs of this tough sport Tai also has had his fair share of injuries to.Ward is on par with them as a rider, but as a complete package/ team around him the jury is still out wouldnt it be great to have Tai,Emil,Darcy,Magic, young Pawlicki going for the title all at there best.

Tai had already overhauled Emil and was on the up.. Emil was feeling the pressure and on the slide.

Pity you do not see a bit more live speedway then maybe i would take you a bit more seriously.!Also i can't ever remember you saying Woffinden was deserving of a free card in the GPs i never heard you having a resounding confidence in his ability.

How many GP's did you attend live that year Sidney as I did two.. which I suspect is higher than you and renders your point irrelevant... although it's already about as irrelevant as it can get.

As for Tai, I was quite happy with my 200/1 winnings.. although I can honestly say I didn't think he had much chance at the start of the season and the bet was only made in fun, I also backed Lindgren each year in the same manner.. Again though of course, what peoples thoughts were at the start of the year are irrelevant as you were discussing the situation when Emil got injured which is entirely different!

Lastly, it matters not what you take 'seriously' again. I simply made a point, that by the time Emil got injured, Tai had already overhauled him in the World Championships. After Round 7 Emil led by 13.. two rounds later, Tai led by 3.. a 16pt gain in 2 rounds showed momentum was on his side.

Had Emil stayed fit, who knows what would have happened, you're fully entitled to your opinion that Emil may have won.. but Tai was the deserving World Champion of that year.

He was a deserving champion and i hope he goes on and wins another five titles, for me it is not just his riding ability its his personality and as a world champion speedway are very lucky.I don't know what you think but with Tai,Emil,Darcy,Magic,Pawlicki Jnr around this looks a very strong era indeed i just hope Emil/Darcy can get in the series.

Spot on Sidney, in total agreement with you here. Magic is a rider that has really grown on me this year. Could be some exciting times ahead.

Just hope we get all those riders in the series next year. A line up of those plus the Nicki,Greg holder, puk, zagar, killer, lindback, doyle, hampel and one other would be a brilliant line up.

Just hope the "right" riders get through the challenge and best riders picked for wildcards (and Emil realises that being world champ is what the sport is about)
