Is Woffinden The Best 1st/2nd Bend Rider In The World?

Recommended Posts

Watching the last few GPs this morning and noticed how often Tai isnt 1st into bend one out of the start but is coming out of bend 2. Some of his cutbacks are so so good. Just wondered what opnions were?

Yes i agree, produced some wonderful moves. Tai & Ward for me have such a racing brain in the fist turn, always have a plan B

Fair play to him he makes some good cut backs ...not sure how it's done but his bikes are just so much quicker than all the rest that is a main reason for him being World Champion and his lead this year .

Sounds a little like your saying hes cheating somehow?

I haven't been won over by him so far,but last night was great to watch with those cutbacks.Very good racing moves, but why the need for Tatum to keep going "Oh how did he do that?" etc ........was way over the top

On form it's pretty hard to pick against Tai right now, he's getting it done everywhere.

If it's his bikes then I suggest his rivals find a way to do the same, as much as I love Bomber for example I severly doubt if I stuck him on Tai's bike he would be top of the GPs.

Im not so sure that his bikes are especially quick, he clearly gets them set up really well within a couple of races.

Personally I think he makes his bikes look quicker than they are because he has an uncanny ability to get his wheels in line early. I'd agree that he is the best first bend rider at the moment, he makes fantastic cut backs but also seems to get the bike to drive after turning so tight.

I wouldn't disagree that he is probably the best rider in the world at the moment, annoying thing is that first time I saw him ride I wasn't impressed :-)

He is in total control of the bike at all times and has superb bike handling skills ,never looks in trouble and is very calculated with his moves.Sheer Class.Maybe he has "rocket ships" but you still have have to be able to handle them.

The year he won his title was down to his ability to ride a great second bend and then play the percentages - he never went hung ho and lose places, he took a sensible approach and of that meant a safe second he took it. This year he's made a few rash moves that have seen him go backwards - but nothing like last year where at times his desperation made things worse.

On the same note would Tai do the same on Bombers ? ...not knocking him for it as the way you set up your bikes is a massive part of the sport .

I believe Emil/ Ward are on par with Tai the three best riders in the world for me the big difference is Tai has a title in the bag. Therefore the pressure is off Tai, he has won a title also what i like about him he is willing to lose rounds like last night doing nothing stupid and meaning he still has a nine point lead to protect.
