Edinburgh Vs Rye House Pl, Friday 24th July

Recommended Posts

TEAMS as per Official website :-

EDINBURGH BORDER ROOFING MONARCHS: Stevie Worrall(G), Justin Sedgmen, Kevin Wolbert, Erik Riss, Craig Cook (capt.), Max Clegg, Rob Branford.

RYE HOUSE ROCKETS: Eddie Kennett, rider replacement for Kasper Lykke, Anders Mellgren, Robin Aspegren, Nikolai Busk Jakobsen, Luke Bowen, Danny Maassen.

Second of three consecutive matches for the Monarchs (third of four consecutive matches for messrs Cook, Branford & Clegg)

This will be Robert Brannfords home return from a five week injury lay off.

Looking forward to seeing Jakobsen make his Dale debut, as he appears to be the best PL newcomer this year.

Also first look at Maassen who has come in for some criticism from some of the Rockets faithful.

Current weather forecast for Friday looks optimistic for a change.

Just seen a snapchat of the track sent by Nikolaj. The dirt looks about 2 foot deep... Oh dear!!!

Downpour at 4pm pretty much flooded it, had to rip off most of the top surface. JDC did praise all the riders in cluding the Rye ones for giving it a good go on the track.

Your boys..at least the six who came and had a go anyway (Robin Aspegren.. why bother showing up man?) and particularly Nicolaj Busk Jakobsen got round just fine Shadders. He looks a real prospect.Honourable mentions to Luke Bowen also as apart from being a nice geezer really enjoys racing round the Dale.Doc Bridgett and the track staff deserve the highest praise for getting the track not only rideable but raceable tonight..it was a minor miracle it went ahead.Praise was even given to your boys efforts tonight by JC himself as Dekker said..which is another minor miracle in itself to say the least lol!The score may look like it was a one way meeting but if only more teams came and had a go..All in all a far better meeting than we all anticipated when we entered the stadium :t:

A better score than I feared tonight although doesn't that say how low my expectations have dropped.

Pleased to see Luke get a few quality points cause we are going to need him tomorrow

When they said Danny Massen was a 5 point rider, you all thought it was 5 points per meeting , well infact it is 5 points in total for the season.

To be fair to Danny he wasnt too far off the pace and gave it a go..unlike Aspegren who was awful to say the least..i'd be more worried about him than your reserve..

Not a bad meet considering the state of the track when arrived at stadium, track staff done very well to get it race-able and all the riders gave it ago but as most will have predicted comfortable win for Monarchs.

Highlight of the meeting for me was watching Ryes new Dane this season Jakobsen a very capable and smooth looking rider he was very impressive and always in the mix (good race with Agent in heat 15) Bowen and Kennett had some decent moments aswel.

Still top of the table with a wee lead, dont envy the drive down to Plymouth for the boys now tho.

As others have said, huge credit to the track staff for sorting out the track. Rye gave it a go to be fair. Monarchs far quicker out the traps. Couple of races to excite but pretty drab mtg in total to watch. Impressed by Jakobsen. Worrall the party pooper in ht13 when rye on a 5-1 only for cookie to fall and excluded, rerun a 3-3. As a neutral, nit the best track for the spectator and a £17 entrance fee, poor value for money.
