f-s-p
Did some stats early in the week, ain't that rosy in Sweden anymore either even with N. Svensson and Ledström coming through. They've had 2 Isracingserien meetings with around 24 riders. Of them 6 were foreign and Serenius and Fastesson are closer to 70 than 60 years of age... Enlisting for the Finnish final has just opened, hoping to get 16 riders together. In the past 3 years 33 different riders enlisted for the Finnish final. 22 riders enlisted for the Finnish final with four new names to add to my list of the past three years!! Tomi Kirilov (Tampere) makes a comeback with Miko Ronkainen (Oulu), Matti Isoaho (Oulu) and Timo Smed (Oulu) as "new" riders.

Ghostwalker
So it's in Hallstavik then. Correct. http://norrteljetidning.se/sport/1.3521279-rospiggarna-tar-over-som-sm-arrangor However the weather forecast for Hallstavik doesn't look that good either with mainly above zero degrees the nearest week and a half, so we'll see what happens there if they can pull it off or if they have to cancel it as well. They have the ice already, there are ways to keep it even with +1 to +5 degrees... Not for ever though, naturally.
Ghostwalker
They have the ice already, there are ways to keep it even with +1 to +5 degrees... Not for ever though, naturally. I know. I think Smederna already had managed to build an ice in before they were awarded the final. However when Smederna announced that that had been awarded the final, they said that if they managed to make an that was about 20cm thick, it would survive a week with temperatures above zero degrees. So with the current forecast I think Hallstavik is a bit doubtful too. I think we can get a pretty good estimate at the end of next week whether the final in Hallstavik seems to be doable or not. WembleyLion
Thanks for the weather updates GW. What do you think about Otterbacken's chances for 2 March? Does the fact it is used for Bandy help?
Jonas H
Otterbäcken is an artificial ice track, so unless it gets extremely warm, we will not have to worry about that one.

Yep I agree with Jonas, it is an artificially frozen track so that should be allright.

Jonas H
Thanks Jonas - I think I may pay a visit then! I know at least four other who will come over from Britain to watch the Swedish pairs at Otterbäcken. I landed in Moscow this afternoon, only about 0 degrees. The track at Krasnogorsk has been wet, but I think it will be okay for the weekend.
