topaz325
The Comets take on the Diamonds in this rearranged meet after last Saturdays rain off, weather forecast looks good for tomorrow. Hopefully all the Comets riders will come back from Plymouth tonight unscathed and get a vital home win..... are the Play offs a bridge to far now... HadrianDog
I think the bridge as gone Newcastle may regrettably be bringing a pit prop over to Derwent Park to shore up your teetering spans come Saturday night.
Lord Lucan
As I've already stated in the previous thread for this match, 50-40 to Comets!!
jenga
we had our 40 point return for this week, so it looks like the customary 38 for us..not impressed with this team at all.
topgun
This team is never going to make .The worst team to ever wear the blue and white . In the 30 years I have been watching Speedway
Marksman
Probably going to be a rain off this, looking bleak at the moment.

robbieblackadder fan club
How to throw a meeting away. Just goes to show what a difference an out and out no 1 makes. Hope Henry ok sounded a bit of a scary one
highside
10 points up after 9 heats and loose by 7 something needs to be done very soon .
HadrianDog
I want to believe that Henry's injury threw our lads a curve ball, because if not, we simply threw that match away. No killer punch in this team for sure. As for poor Christian, his injury jinx continues to blight his career. Hopefully nothing too serious, but could be that Konopka may be in Diamonds colours again pretty damn soon.
Arson fire
Hopefully George tapped Hansen for tomorrow, gws Christian.
HadrianDog
Hopefully George tapped Hansen for tomorrow, gws Christian. Surely tomorrow we have Tero in Henry's main body birth, so as to whether we need a NL guest- given that the boomerang has once again failed to sufficiently bounce enough to avoid injury- I leave to the rule gurus to hypostasise upon. If Hansen still fits though, then why not?
Panthers89
Home teams shouldn't be allowed to use tac rides, away team do all the hard work to get in front to get sucker punched
HadrianDog
Home teams shouldn't be allowed to use tac rides, away team do all the hard work to get in front to get sucker punched Ah yes, the wonderfully, be that woefully inept piece of twaddle brought in to keep the 'dead match' alive. One of SKY'S better? ideas!!!!!!!!
oldswindonsupporter
Well only the 2nd time visit. Eight down after two, you wondered where the first win was coming from. Sad to Marry Wethers so off the pace. First win for the comets in ht 4 thanks to Ricky Wells and a stonking t-1 in ht 5. Nielsen popping Harrison on the line for a point in ht 6. Raffa in for Rose two rides, five points shd have done better in ht 8, dropped it when challenging for 3rd. Rosen two out of two, diamonds well in control. Into ht 9 and a 4-2 takes them 10 clear. Ht 10 and Howarth on a tactical and Hansen flew out the gate, 8 massive points and the gap down to 3. Ht 11 and what a ride by Matt Williamson, has the beating of Henry who then unfortunately clipped his back wheel, bike cleared the fence. Henry off to hospital, shoulder and neck pain. Ht 12 Wethers held 2ns for a while but did very well to hang onto 3rd. Another 4-2. Same in ht 13. 3pts up now and then the suspect ht 14 which Hansen had to win. But step up Williamson, held 2nd for a lap, Raffa under him but held off Rosen until the final bend losing out on the run in. All to ride for in the last. Easy 5-1 from the two top performers, Wells and Hansen. Enjoyed it. Diamonds so much sharper till ht 9. That 8-1 seemed to knock them. Lord Lucan
Didn't make this match after all and from looking at the updates we pretty much got out of jail? Looked standard procedure for the Comets, four scoring, three, not so much, and a cheap tac ride to deny Newky a point they clearly looked to deserve, wont have bothered us tho, still would have had the three so it's as good as it gets and provides another of my "home wins only" for the season!! Hope Christian is OK after his smash, been blighted by injuries lately that guy and if anyone deserves a break it's him? (tho, not literally) Dont see us challenging for anything, we just haven't done what was expected with what we had, not competitive away and just mopping up the home wins to keep us there or thereabouts? Not the best team we've ever assembled but I do think we should have been doing far better than what we have, someone did mention the performances of the "long term" members of this team not doing very well and that would appear to be the case, no one really standing out week on week with the big scores, maybe the possible exception of Ricky Wells, easily the most consistent, but not enough back up when needed to put us in the mix? End of last season should have been the clear out stakes as the way this one has gone it could well become the "clearing off" stakes? HadrianDog
Good for the info re. Henry. Hopefully nothing too serious. We chucked a very real four points down the Derwent though from what I can gleam- an cluster***k if ever there was one.
