Wolverhampton Wolves Vs Poole Pirates 20/07/2015

Recommended Posts

I'm never very supportive of the Poole promotion but I can't blame Middleditch for that decision.

Having had Watt in the Lakeside team for 3 seasons, he's one of the last blokes I'd ever select for Heat 15; Watty rarely delivers when the heat is truly on - particularly away from home.

Holder would have undoubtedly not agreed to take the final heat ride unless he had the self-confidence to provide a return. It wasn't to be. Had he delivered, Middleditch would have been hailed a hero; and Holder's selection would have been considered a pure master stroke. That's management. You sometimes have to make a difficult decision based upon gut instinct; coupled with true faith in someone. When it comes off you are deemed a tactically-aware hero. When it goes t!ts up, be prepared to take the flack.

That said, a great result for Wolverhampton Speedway Club. Well done to everyone concerned. To demonstrate such tenacity and resilience against good opposition, should hold you in good stead for the remainder of the season. Worryingly, I think the wooden spoon fight-off between Leicester and ourselves is now well and truly on.

With regards to managers decisions, even though he was guesting, I'm surprised Clegg had all 4 rides when Roynon was looking stronger.

Again, I'd side with Adams on this one. Wolves were being eaten for breakfast at reserve at the two possible heats he could have made the switch. Clegg had been relatively on the pace and there didn't appear to be any realistic gain from putting Roynon in 4 or 9.

Roynon put in his best ride mounted on Musielaks bike in 12.

Wolves won this because their heat leaders came to the party at the sharp end of the meeting for the first time in a while.

Taken me 10 minutes to compose myself to write this through absolute laughter - Middledich you shown your real colours tonight - Why was Holder gonna any better than he he did all night - and to lose at Wolverhampton of all places - crikey shows you up even more.

Matt Ford ain't gonna be happy ! You should have opted for Darcy - I admit I was a big critic of him and for his misdemeanours, but hey, he had a beer too many. Rosco and Swindon (with Mr Ward) will be the force to reckon with now for the rest of the season - would be good for Darcy to realise that Poole needed him more than he needed Poole - although not sure where he sleeps at night anymore as I guess Middledich will no longer be offering a place to stay.

In addition (and I wasn't at the meeting) there is often a reluctance to field a rider whose programmed outings finish in heat 10 due to changing track conditions.

Don't make yourself look daft when you weren't there.

As a Bees fan who has seen his number one miles off the pace several times this year, I can assure you tonight that Holder was not.

He met Lindgren three times and got the thin end of the wedge in three belting races. He was also undone, along with Janowski, by a superb ride from Wells in Heat 6.

Don't want to sound like CVS but the format was very unforgiving on Holder tonight.

Don't like to say it ..............but.........I TOLD YOU SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should have jettisoned Holder,North and Gomolski and got Darcy Ward in........THEN Poole would have won!!!!

Bye. Bye playoffs.......this Poole team are RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!

We should have won, we threw it away, Gomolski rode pretty well actually as it was Wolves, a track he isn't known to like too much.

How can we drop Holder, you told me he got 14 last time, only needed half of that to win comfortably, you told me Janowski was crap at Monmore and i have said North is out of form, so as usual you know nothing.

I also said we will not win the play offs with this 1-5.

Good meeting though with lots of passing and re-passing.

Sorry, but I am the only person not wanting to be standing in the SKY office as some over payed flunkie tries to explain why D-Head darts took precedence over what would/should have been a classic EL speedway meeting. Or did the Poole biased team at SKY purposely shy away lest we see an on-screen melt-down from a grief stricken presenter as the 'chosen' are humbled.

Don't be too hard on Holder if you don't get it right this format chews you up and spits you out ,not his greatest fan but no one can argue he is a top line rider.IMO this format will give ALL riders peaks and troughs in their scoring but really happy for wolves to have pulled this off just wish I had been there to see this one.

Pathetic post - there is no way Poole will not be in the play-offs. What is it, with a certain group of Poole supporters?!!
