HadrianDog
Call me a glory hunter if you like and since I hardly missed a meeting for 15 year home or away that is a load of crap. The reason I don't go is I do not agree with the current policy of the promotion and have not for a few year now. One thing is for certain the only way a speedway team will be operating in Newcastle beyond next year is if a team is put on the track which at the very least competitive as otherwise it's not only 'glory hunting' supporters who won't go but also a lot who have been going for years also. That is why crowds are totally down this year again and will continue to unless this changes. I'm not forking out good money to watch a team beaten most weeks and in my opinion not very entertaining either and if that upset some people tough. Well I was entertained tonight. Whether that continues remains to be seen. I will go next week just to see Eddie Kennett tackle Brough . spin king
hello my dear friend, can you tell me the relevance of you reply to my post. Make a comparison of Kenneth Hansen and Steady and Sean Wilson.

HadrianDog
I was entertained by D.J john but i am easily pleased. A truly sad tw*t then. A classic example of southerners picking, in their eyes, a stereotypical northern Geordie buffoon to be ridiculed and therefore cement their opinion in the eyes of every one of their brain dead viewers. I hate to think people who find him actually entertaining are making up any real proportion of our crowd base. But hey, maybe I am just an old fogey with no sense of humour- each to their own I suppose.
SCB
Hint to the promoters. I'd love to watch Hansen every week. You wouldn't. Every other week maybe but he can be as bad as he can be good and he would annoy you half the time

If he prefers a smaller track then he can become another 'Diamond Kenny' to cheer imo.

I'm always at a loss as to why this mentality doesn't apply to Newcastle Utd who should also be playing to crowds under a thousand if results and performance was the main criteria

MrP
Had a really enjoyable night last night. The racing was good and D J John brought a smile to a lot of people's faces. Ludvigs outside pass on Douglas was as good as any other I have seen at Brough. Hansen was good value as a guest and enjoyable to watch. I've read with interest over the last few weeks regarding crowd levels dropping. Yes of course it's worrying but people have a right wether they come or not and I'm not someone who will point a finger at the absent fans and say well it's gonna be your fault if we close. I can say however that that there is an awful amount of work being done to attract new people to Brough park. i agree that a successful team will encourage more people through the turnstiles, however it's a bit of a vicious circle as without the people coming week in week out it becomes harder to put together a team capable of challenging for silverware. Hopefully we can have a better end to the 2015 season.

StevePark
How did Tero go on Sunday He'd been on the road from 5am, so can be excused scoring just the 2 points (was also excluded from heat 8 for 'delaying the start'). I think, once he gets dialled in to the place, he'll be fine. He certainly wants to do well. Edited July 20, 2015 by Steve Park

Wish him well as i do to Newcastle for the rest of the season, damned bl**dy injuries.
acclennell
I'm always at a loss as to why this mentality doesn't apply to Newcastle Utd who should also be playing to crowds under a thousand if results and performance was the main criteria Because football is a lot more important to people in Newcastle than speedway as is rugby and basketball now also and that's why you need a decent team to compete with these other sports or can you explain another reason why crowds are so down since you keep going on about me being a glory hunter? It's not rocket science you know and you may have a few who will go no matter what but they are not the amount that used to be and that includes myself and a few others on this forum also. And by the way I am a season ticket holder at Newcastle United also so that dispels your theory out of hand also. Unless a competitive team is put out next season (if it goes beyond this season) then I will be very surprised if speedway continues beyond 2016 in Newcastle. As I said if you don't like what I said then tough but I know which view is correct and the decrease in crowds these last two years proves it. Chewbacca
NUFC are rubbish but you pay for a season ticket Diamonds are rubbish so you won't go Which theory does that dispel other than the one that NUFC fans are not very bright?
