gee jay
I'm Eastbourne through and through but have to admit you do have a point. whilst I am loving watching him in Eastbourne kevlars he has got in under the radar if you like but he's hardly the first and won't be the last unless the law is altered. I do believe that if riders use these laws of duel nationality then they automatically pick their nationality by doing so. I thought he had already given an interview in the star in which he talked about nothing else than nz greats and what he wanted to do for nz speedway so it wouldn't need someone from outside of speedway to ask him, if you or I asked him he would say he's a kiwi.

dj350z
And since you have taken the time to call yourself SCB maybe you can enlighten us as to why the rules are so inconsistent  Shawn calls himself SCB because that is what his parents named him! SCB
And since you have taken the time to call yourself SCB maybe you can enlighten us as to why the rules are so inconsistent The rules, generally, are fine. The issue is how the people whos job it is to enforce them chose to ignore them when it suits their mates.

Islander15
That may all be true. But why would the BSPA/SCB/ACU (all British) want to help out a rider who has a NZ silver fern on the top of his website and has the NZ flag on his merchandise. The 3 point average is meant to be for Brits, the 7 point average for foreigners, cut all the bullrubbish and red tape, in simple terms is BWD a Brit or a Kiwi? If someone outside of speedway asked him his nationality what answer would he give? Who will he race for in World Championships if he gets that far? Would he race for GB in the U21 SWC next month? He may talk about wanting to improve NZ speedway but he also said that he wants to ride for Team GB but the BSPA decided that he's ineligible. Filth
BWD has already said he would love to ride for GB. his grandmother was born in Portsmouth, his great grand father and grand mother on both sides of his family were from England. There's no doubt he has British blood in his veins, regardless of which soil he was born on.
