Sotonian
As I understand it, this is the last season at the current stadium and there are even attempts afoot to try and get Briggo to ride the very last laps there. What happens then? The timescale is tight to build a new stadium before next season surely? What are the grounds for optimism that this will actually come to fruition? With every day that nothing happens on the new stadium it must be a big doubt. As all over in Wiltshire weak councils let these builders carry on with the houses before they start on developments that were supposed to be finished as part of the original agreement. Give it anothr 50 years and we'll be like China. Loads of new build homes that investors have bought but nobody lives in because the people that need homes won't be able to afford them as they're jobless because their place of work and places of entertainment were knocked down to build more houses for people to invest in. It's ok building more and more new houses but you need the amenities to go with it!
Stoke Potter
Why aren't the owners of the making more noise about the fact they may be without a track next season? Surely they are not just sleep-walking into it and allowing it to happen, or is there a chance there could be another season in the current stadium? A ORLOV
The current track will not be knocked down till the new track is up and running. If the new stadium is delayed the present track can be shortened to allow the new one to be built as it crosses the corner of the present stadium. So the 2016 season could start in the present stadium then move to the new one when ready. The build should have started by now but there is a minor problem holding up the start. They will need to start soon or they will be building through the winter, not an ideal solution. Edited July 16, 2015 by A ORLOV
SpecialOne
Unless they have hired the ancient Egyptians, 8 months does not seem long enough to build a new stadium from scratch, also taking into consideration winter weather.

Tim Stone did it. Started about September - was open in May.
Aces51
Tim Stone did it. Started about September - was open in May. I suspect the Swindon stadium is going to be a much bigger project than Newport was. Also, isn't this a greyhound stadium where speedway are going to be tenants, therefore there may not be the same influence or pressure to get it built in time. Hopefully, all will go well and next year we shall see two new EL stadiums.
