Scunthorpe Scorpions Vs Ipswich Witches ( P L) - Friday, July 17th (7.30pm)

Recommended Posts

For God's sake Ippo followers accept it and move on.

You are starting to sound a bit petulant now.

You will be stronger without him anyway.

I noticed Spud Summers raced back to the pits tonight when he beat Tungate - no slowing down for him!

i think if you read the posts properly instead of adding your views without facts i think you will actually see we have accepted it.

the issue now, as alluded to by Chris Louis, is the fines and bans that will be coming Scunthorpes way for their petulant behaviour and the fact that Lunna and his mechanic attacked a rider.

im still in shock how Tungate gets a ban and Masters gets away scot free for ABH. Again im sure Louis has something in place reagrding that to

Dangerous word to be using - "corrupt".

Maybe tungate got off lightly?

your getting a bit of a sad individual with your tiresome crusade against the witches. Tungate has been punished and we are happy to accept that and move on wether we agree or not.

If you think Tungate got of lightly then Masters needs to be banned for the rest of the season

did you read alans post gavan?,, Referee Clarke said: 'The sit-in, as far as I was concerned, was just a bit of theatre for the crowd. It only lasted a few seconds so I had a chat to Rob after the meeting and that's as far as it goes. Nike Lunna and Ashley Morris were also fined the maximum £200 for fighting on the track.'"

Don't get your knickers in a twist Gavan.

If you are still in shock I suggest you need some counselling.

I have no crusade against Ippo - just don't have them on my xmas card list.

But Glasgow aren't on it either - but can have a bit of craic with most Tiggers posters, but only a few Ippo ones.

I do like Chris Louis though - pity he has to be constrained in what he says. He was my daughter's favourite rider.

Liked his dad too.

And Rickardsson and Gollub.

I like Sam Masters - you don't.

But I didn't see what happened between him and Bjerre - neither did you.

So I don't go on and on about it - talk about crusades?

I have seen the same amount of footage of the Tungate incident as you and most readers have.

Bjerre won his next race a couple of heats later - Auty is out for the season.

(Sorry to hear Bjerre is now out for the season too - sounds horrendous.)

Come to think of it I don't even have Monarchs on my xmas card list - I'm such a sad individual.

A polite post to all the imbeciles who have posted over the previous pages libellous comments about the BSPA management committee. It`s about time people realise that the referees are employed by the Speedway control bureau(SCB) and it`s this body that deal with disciplinary matters such as this.

It`s obviously true that there are members of the BSPA on the board of the SCB but if anyone thinks for instance if there was a hearing about Edinburgh then Alex Harkess would be involved in any decision making process then they are seriously deluded.

Is this setting a dangerous precedence, will video evidence be used to determine who cause crashes and issue them with bans when reviewed by BSPA after the event if a Promoter files a complaint.Tungate appears to have been out of order but like other posters comment that has happened before.Auty is no angel on occasions I have seen him ride but that's Speedway and it is a dangerous sport.

It also says about using the video evidence. The video evidence that a rule in the rule book doesn't allow them to use. Looks to me there have been some underhand goings on. By the way I also think tungate is a very silly boy if he lied to cover his butt.

The only reference to video evidence in the regs is that the referee isn't allowed to use non-TV company video during a meeting.

The are in's and out's with regard to this video evidence; and whether it was admissible?; clearly the rules appear to say only professional footage is admissible; that's a technicality. It was taken on small camera and it was made available IF it was of any help. There we're plenty of calls on here from folks who wanted to view the ScunGate incident. Look how its been thrashed out on here and twitter so it has created plenty of interest. It was made available and the SCB; and the two promotions make of it what they will. Whether it is legal or illegal is not an issue; Fact is it existed; and in a way that's a good thing. It is up to the powers that be to decided what value they place upon it in a disciplinary hearing. With all the;" did he or didn't he" after the incident; I would contend it has some value; the powers can ignore it if they wish.

I agree it is hard to be categorically certain from the footage; only Rohan Tungate really knows what was in his head; but thanks to the film of it; it sets the whole thing in context for those sat at the SCB deliberating over an incident none of them saw. Without it; there's only the counter arguments presented by Josh/Rohan; Referee Peter Clarke and the officials of the two clubs and it was clear on Friday there was never going to be any agreement.

By the way we're off tonight; shame I was looking forward to it; clearly with Plymouth making the long trip it is a sensible call with a poor forecast in the South/East. Although it is fine here in Bradford. Still a week on from ScunGate and I think we are all still getting over all the action and controversy of last week.

Just because I know it will, make you happy....

Tungate has picked up a couple of meetings in Poland during his UK ban that he wouldn't normally have been able to make so earnings being supplemented

Heard that as well

I have accepted the fact he got a ban. Stefan Neilsen got T-Boned by Adam Roynon at King's Lynn and it was just a way of putting he got taken off, nothing malicious but you seem to be reading more into it than that.

THE Speedway Control Bureau have issued a statement following an incident during the Scunthorpe v Ipswich Premier League match on Friday July 17;

For publication after 12 noon: Friday 24th July 2015.
Release Date: Thursday 23rd July 2015.

SCUNTHORPE V IPSWICH (Friday 17th July 2015)

At the above Meeting Rohan Tungate was involved in an after Heat incident (the re-run of Heat 10), whereby Josh Auty was knocked off his motorcycle at the start of the back straight. Auty suffered an injury; the extent of which is still not known, as his arm/hand is still badly swollen.

Immediately following this incident, which was unseen by the Referee and Clerk of Course, the Referee interviewed Tungate and others in the Pits to establish what had occurred.

As a consequence of what Tungate told him, a £200 fine was levied upon him based upon his plea that it was purely an accident.

Since then the SCB received a complaint and video evidence of the incident. In accordance with SR 3.3.2.2. the SCB Prime Officer viewed the video and made further enquiries of the Meeting Referee. The Referee is clearly of the view that the video evidence does not support Tungate’s mitigation of slowing down and being unable to avoid hitting Auty.

Accordingly in accordance with SR 3.3.2.3 Tungate is given a 21-day Suspension of his SCB Registration (and a notification to his FMN). This Suspension, formally agreed by 3 SCB Officers takes effect from tomorrow, Friday 24th July.

Tungate has a Right of Appeal under SR 3.4.7 to the SCB Court.

Issued by: Graham Reeve,
SCB Prime Officer
Rugby, 23rd July 2015

the above just appeared on the the sgb website
