screm
So how was this done then if they couldn't use the video evidence and the ref didn't see it? So somebody's inconclusive and allegedly inadmissible evidence has been used to convict a rider. It brings the sport (and I use the word sport in the loosest sense) into disrepute. Farcical. Maybe the great MC and/or BSPA looked at the posts on here and felt that in the balance of probability that Tungate was guilty and should ban him. Red Panda
Mike Bacon @Mike_Bacon 5m5 minutes agoEngland, United Kingdom Hearing @rohantungate has been banned for 21 days starting tomorrow after incident at @SpeedwayScunny @ipswichspeedway It says hearing but that does not mean it is definite................ I would be inclined to wait and see what appears on the Ipswich and BSPA website before commenting............. RP
Triple.H.
I'm not at Foxhall tonight but I heard a whisper from the girl on the turnstiles that her great great grandfather's mother in laws çousin had met someone in a pub that said it was TRUE/FALSE(delete as appropriate) so it could be that it IS/MIGHT BE /ISNT correct(delete as appropriate) Until there's a statement on the British Speedway official site I'd take it all with a pinch of salt as they've been quick to update the site with SCB statements this season Edited July 23, 2015 by Triple.H. stratton
Saw that picture in the Speedway Star and thought they looked like a couple of stroppy kids. Since when has it been OK for a promoter to lead that sort of protest. Doesn't seem right to me whatever he may think But do you fully understand the case they had an issue with? makes me wonder? The promoter Mr Godfrey has every right to be assed,he loses Auty more and likely till next year and it was not his fault Auty..
Super Blue
So there is something to be gained from a sit in at the starting gate with thumbs in mouth's shouting " I'll scream and scream till I get my way " like 5 year olds. Must remember that next time I disagree with a refereeing decision.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Actually disagree with that Superblue - if you genuinely feel so strongly I think you should make a stand even it it is outside normal acceptable means.
stu219
Now Tungate has received his punishment rightly or wrongly will the other wrongdoings on the night by the home teams promoters includinng the sit in now be suitably punished? And if not why not?
2ndbendbeerhut
If true that its a 21 day ban (Chris Louis and Rohan Tungate were both interviewed and told the public they had been informed of decesion this afternoon) then what comes of the other incidents that WERE seen by the referee at the meeting? If a rider can be banned for 21 days through hearsay then there might be some interesting time ahead! But sport is on its ar$e in the country so anything possible!
spanner47
I suppose being an Aussie Rohan might be used to Kangaroo courts. Guilty until proved innocent in my humble opinion.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Will be interesting to see how long Wilkos ban will be..... And Lunnas mechanic..... And what action is taken for fans entering the racing arena during a meeting...... And despite my saying you should make a stand there is the sit in which is likely to attract attention. Coventry took a stand which most agreed with but still were punished.... Edited July 23, 2015 by dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
robert72
If Rohan is banned then how did masters get away with what he did to tiny bjerre while down on the track ? Speedway in this country is in a serious mess. One rule for one and another for others it seems

I'm still waiting to see what sort of action Sam Masters faces for doing something far worse.
bigcatdiary
Must remember that next time I disagree with a refereeing decision. Must remember that next time I disagree with a MC decision. 2ndbendbeerhut
So we are awaiting verdicts on the following..... 4.1.7 The use of foul, abusive or offensive language, profane activity or fraudulent comments by any accessible medium, e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Texts, Webshots, Instagrams, Public Forums or any other Social Network sites etc., (this list is not exhaustive) is not permitted. Thats when Auty called Tungate a "lying ba$tard" on twitter. 4.1.8 Ungentlemanly conduct and / or acts of a violent, threatening, racist or abusive nature to any Official, Rider or any other person. That relates to Carl Wilkinson on Stefan Nielsen, then also to Nike Lunna's mechanic for his part in heat 14 scuffle. Lunna himself and Ashley Morris. 4.1.6 Riders, Officials, Employers & Employees are required to conduct themselves in an orderly and disciplined manner at all times. Theres a fair few of Scunthorpe riders and officals there then.....
Baldyman
You can't ban masters. Doesn't he ride for Edinburgh and don't they have someone on the board?
Fozzie4388
You can't ban masters. Doesn't he ride for Edinburgh and don't they have someone on the board? So do Scunthorpe. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Alex Harkess (Edinburgh) remains as Chairman for the last of his six-year stint in the position. Chris Van Straaten (Wolverhampton) takes over as Vice-Chairman, with George English (Newcastle) and Rob Godfrey (Scunthorpe) remaining on the Management Committee. Former vice-chairman Jon Cook (Lakeside) did not stand for re-election, with Keith Chapman (King’s Lynn) joining the Management Committee. The reserve member, to cover any absence across the Association, will be David Hemsley (Leicester).

TheScotsman
For God's sake Ippo followers accept it and move on. You are starting to sound a bit petulant now. You will be stronger without him anyway. I noticed Spud Summers raced back to the pits tonight when he beat Tungate - no slowing down for him!
tone deaf
No hope for the sport when the management committee includes promoters who encourage & participate in unprofessional & childish behaviour. Amateur antics for an amateur sport. I'll look forward to seeing Jose Mourinho staging a sit-in in the centre circle next time he disagrees with a ref's decision & inviting the fans onto the pitch with him.
