Witches V Monarchs (well Some Of Them) Pl 16/7/15

I bet it was another "rubbish" meeting that Scotsman attended that he wishes he'd stayed home and watched Eastenders instead!

Think ref was watching Eastenders in heat 5 though when Manzares got past Worrall but was given the other way! Not Manzares night was it? 2 falls a race win knocked off and a trip to hospital!

Cook was awesome...didn't need to creep and twice overhauled King for the wins! Apparently broke track record, but just think the "timekeeper" was trigger happy with his finger! an't see how it can be taken seriously without the aid of proper technology!

Recently a stock car race at Foxhall was won but 1/100th of a second! those transponders must be expensive for a amatuer sport!

Great result especially with a weakened team!

Cookie seems back to his best if not better witch is great to see. Good to see max chipping in with points away from home and Erik scoring well to on track he hasn't seen before.

Hopefully when we return we will have a full team.

Like Mr Beerhut I was stunned to hear the ref hadnt given the race win decision to Gino over Worrall.

However no one pits side thought he had got it so it seems angles can be deceptive from the stand.

Wouldnt mind seeing the video replay though!!

Well done to both teams, sounds like an entertaining meeting and a fair result. Huge well done to Cookie on a well deserved maximum and track record. I really wish I'd been able to go.......

Hope Gino is OK

So what do we need to do now to make play offs? Win all away meetings? It's just annoying knowing it's very unlikely we could win it. Edinburgh are just a better team, even when weakened.

Is it now a good time to look for a new 5 pointer for next season?

I too thought Manzares had nicked it in heat 5 and had started texting that result.

But morris flier in heat 14 was unreal. Heaven knows why it wasn't called back.

King was outstanding in heat 1 off 15m. But Worrall & Sedgy tried to be too careful.

After that cookie had him in his pocket - gave him a start twice.

Rollin' rode well.

Covatti disappointed me.

Heeps & Manzares were nothing much.

Neilsen was poor - bike problems? His heat 12 attempts were a joke.

Morris scored well but the flier helped.

Smilin' Sam was missed - Richie seemed a bit down on speed.

Sedgy got going in his 3rd & 4th rides. Good performance.

Kevin looked slow.

Erik was steady but also looked slow.

Both Germans had a couple of good gates.

Cookie was just immense. Didn't move at all at the gate. Wasn't always gating first but even from behind was so fast.

Cleggy rode ok. Stupid tapes exclusion in his first but pretty steady thereafter.

Greenwood never threatened unfortunately and was a bit unsteady in heat 2 till Cleggy got past.

Decent meeting though.

Probably better than eastenders.

Pretty much nip & tuck with a flurry of 5-1 from heat 10.

And the Ippo fans stayed till the end this time unlike the last time we were in town!

If that's a typical Foxhall track then there can't be any in the country better prepared. It really lets the riders race.

I also had Gino marked in for a win in heat 5 from a second bend vantage point though I'm sure the announcement would prove to be right.

I sit in the home straight stand right on the start line and Gino just missed beating Richie to the line. Ref got it right. Morris just got a perfect start in heat 14, surprised ref didn't call it back as they usually do even if riders don't move so again good decision.

See the real Cookstar turned up tonight, shame he didn't bring his 600cc machine when he guested for us!!

The Ipswich riders all go on about what good team spirit there is at the moment so what happened to that in heat 12 with no-one rushing out with a bike for Stefan when he had a minute remaining of the two minutes, pretty poor.

As I've said before with our home form we won't make the play-offs, now only taken 11 out of a total of 24 points at home. We have only beaten Redcar, Plymouth and a weakened Rye House at home, not good enough!

Some interesting views posted on here , unfortunately due to personal reasons I was unable to attend but from others that were there I gather it was a decent meeting with some good racing .

An odd contentious decision , a few points gifted to the opposition and an inspired Cookie monster appear to have conspired to yet again prevent a home win for that Witches .

Was this really the same Craig Cook that guested so pathetically for the Wiitches just a few weeks ago ? 6pts scored for us , 15 pts and a new track record when riding against us ! Hmmm , no comment is the diplomatic response me thinks .

Ah well , onwards and upwards to mid table mediocrity .

Pity Smiling Sam wasn't riding!!

Cookie has had a very up and down season which is why he dropped from number 1.

I think when he guested against Newcy he was in one of his down periods and couldn't gate for toffee.

I saw him the next night at Armadale against Glasgow and he was the same out of the gate and even lost a 5-1 in one heat.

But 2 days later he had blitzed a 15 point max away to Glasgow!!

It's a funny old game!!

Maybe the GP has given him some confidence?

That's 2 x 15 pointers since then.

On another note, I'm deffo not a regular at Ippo, but I think that's twice in a row I have seen someone go straight through the fence on the second bend one panel past the bouncy castle. The other was Hawkins - possibly against Somerset.

What is the problem there?

Does the bouncy castle stop a panel too soon?

Manzares certainly went through it at a bit of speed.

Hope he makes a quick recovery.

Decent meeting though and there looked a good sized crowd to me.

Should be a full house for the League Cup clash!!
