Berwick V Edinburgh Sat 18th

Recommended Posts

Edinburgh by 6 tonight, unless the reserves can improve on the past two home meetings. Cook to go through the card, like King. I don't think he will be stopped tonight. Thornblom will take time to get used to the surroundings. Hopefully Garcia will chip in with a few. TJ and the captain need to keep up their superb form at the moment and hopefully Rohan Tungate will ride like he did last Saturday night.

Hopefully we can ride on the crest of the performance at Rye House but my head tells me that Edinburgh will just be that little bit stronger, especially with Cook in three of the last five races.

To be fair Hall and especially Edberg did quite well last week, they have far more racing experience than the Edinburgh pair and should out score them comfortably.

I don't think there will be much in it, monarchs weakened with Worrall in for masters...

Generally when you presume a rider will go through the card they then generally tend not too ala Sean Wilson post breaking the track record...

I think we can get about Cook and knock a few points of him....

Glasgow reserves that night were crap.He might well beat Alex and Richard but really they would have to be having another off-night(hopefully not).Say that again!!

Sadly I was wrong they did have another off night.Well done to Monarchs and Liam.Cook had an off night only got 14.

Only bright spot of the night was Andy Barlow saying he was disappointed in how speedway was promoted in this country and might give it a go well welcome to Shielfield Andy.

With regards to the speedway how do we have the ability to pick the cr*p guest every week that has to be a talent in its own right.

Season over roll on the x-factor.

Sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say you were beaten by a better team. Edinburgh far superior from the gate, very similar to the Peterborough match. On a positive note, the track produced some good racing later on in the meeting, Doolan brilliant, some great moves round the boards and up the back straight when you thought there was no gaps. Again TJ and the captain gave everything. Felt sorry for Garcia and Hall both falling trying to pass, can't fault the effort. Thornblom got better as the meeting went on, give him time, he looks like a decent second string.

Really pleased for Liam Carr as well, coming back from the bad injury and showing he can perform at this level. Always like to see the local boy doing good.

So to Glasgow.

That is a mighty strong Monarchs side, really can't say anything other than the better team won.

Agree with Topsoil, some decent racing later on in the meeting.

Doolan yet again pulling off some tremendous moves.

TJ asked Cook to show what he was made of in heat 15, and Cook responded.

Good to see Liam Carr going well, Coty should have had 5 instead of 3, but just tried too hard.

Thornblom looked to have a decent style and improved as the meeting went on.

Let's just go with pedantic then

that will do for me

Another first for berwick not only are we the only track to have a 'retro' feel to our presentation ( this week it was 1976 with 70's style innuendo and smutty comments) but the first track to have an ambulance, fallen rider on track and victory parade all at the same time

On a separate note isn't about time Alex and Berwick ended their association

Were Edinburgh really that great? Ritchie Wozza replacing Masters?

Wolbert less said about him the better

Sedgman? class act round Berwick?

Liam Carr

Maybe were just pish  just a thought

Gating problems that is all, surely the start would be set up for how the home riders want it?

As a neutral, good to see young Liam Carr back scoring points in the PL post injury. Mixed feelings I guess for the Bandits faithful.

Don't get me started. Down at Brough we seem to have created the same problem. Sod fair play and give the home riders HOME advantage. The really good riders should be dialled up after their first ride anyway and the also rans are exactly that.
