As posted on BSPA website a few weeks back

Tuesday September 01, 2015

BRITISH Speedway Chairman Alex Harkess has confirmed there will be a restaging of the Premier League Fours Final - on a Saturday night under lights.

Newcastle, Somerset, Ipswich and Edinburgh will do battle over 16 races for the prestigious title and Harkess is currently in talks with a club to secure a neutral venue and a new date.

The original staging of the meeting at Peterborough was abandoned following serious injuries sustained by Lewis Kerr who is thankfully now back at home recovering.

Harkess says the delay in securing a restaging had been down to the fixture calendar and a clash with too many Sunday dates which would delay the Knockout Cup and play-offs.

We've been holding back to see how the Knockout Cup is shaping up and, quite frankly, Sundays are proving to be difficult to restage the Fours, said Harkess.

It is the intention of the British Speedway Promoters' Association to hold the final between the four who qualified on the day at Peterborough over a 16 heat format.

We have the venue in mind where we believe it would be good geographically, if that's possible with the qualifiers, and to try and encourage as many fans as possible to come along and enjoy it.

I understand why people have been so keen to ask about the restaging but we are at a crucial stage of the season with the domestic competitions and we have been very careful to try and minimise disruption to those.

As soon as we have more details on the date and venue we will update through the usual outlets.

Can't see many fans going to Redcar on a Thursday Evening.

Not sure if the plans have changed as think originally it was going to be at Leicester on a Saturday night as no stadium rent,Good home support, logistically central for all teams in the country and good facilities with likely good attendance as would attract casual fans from all clubs. Just a couple of problems Mr Hemsley is off to Torun then straight out to Australia for a holiday and take in the GP so no promotion to run the meeting so the club said No.

So looks like it will now be at another track less well placed logistically especially for Somerset fans and casual fans
