ruffdiamond
So where are you last night. Thought you were coming along to inspect the fence. If you were buying a wrist band I'll let you off. No. The kick board is only there to stiffen the mesh wire fence. The strapping is sown onto the bottom of the air fence panel, and goes under the kick board, and about 18inches up the back of the mesh fence it is attached to the fence with a karabiner fastening for easy removal. In a 5 metre length panel there are 4 straps per panel. Our fence does not ride up, and a rider can't hit the fence as in the case of accidents that are prompting the comments. Of course we should all be looking for safety improvements, but really we haven't got a lifting problem that needs to be solved. Air fence panels now are the legal height for fences. It you did a trench, they are not then legal height, and therefore obsolete and illegal. Could you not just put some old cushions on the top ???

Shale Searcher
Dozy bugger.  No, but how about a soft forgiving layer under the air fence, and not attached to the air bags......

Cracking suggestion that SS. If it could be done, to my mind, it should be done. Certainly makes sense - to me anyway.

The White Knight
if its not attached to the air bags, how would it stop it lifting ??? It won't - but if a Rider happens to go under the fence there could be something there to protect him from fence posts etc. Had there been something there when Chris Holder went under the fence it definitely would have helped if there had been something there to prevent him hitting the fence/post thus saving the serious injuries that he suffered. I just think it is a very good idea for Rider safety that's all.

Sorry, Dave, I think you have more on your plate come race nights than to show people the finer points of the fence. I did have a look from the stands and think I could make out the strapping. Main thing is Ludde, I think, is testimony to their efficacy and to your teams' hard work. Edited August 11, 2015 by HadrianDog

Tsunami
Just hearing about a sh!t fan called Wayne Hutt from Oxford has been giving Jesse Kerr grief, and asked for his money back cos Lewis is making too good a recovery. I am aware that this piece of sh!t has friends on here, and I hope now he is named you will all give him as much grief as you can administer. This sort of creature doesn't deserve existence. The riders are on to it and are sharing Tweets to each other with 'offers to meet'. Please accept the challenge Wayne. The poor Lady has her husband to worry about, is pregnant too. She needs looking after, NOT harassing. I'm sorry Tsunami - but this is the lowest of the low. Speedway Supporters are GREAT when something like this happens and are to be applauded for it. This person has let himself down very badly. He certainly isn't a true Speedway Supporter. Jess - if you read this - take no notice. We are all rooting for Lewis and I am keeping him in my prayers. mdmc82
What a scumbag. Would he rather Kerr wasn't recovering well. So glad that that the majority of fans aren't shallow like him.
baba
This individual craves worse news. Maybe he's the one with brain damage. Can't he see that lewis was lucky. The emergency treatment he had saved his life. The angel from the sky landed and took him to hospital. I want to meet him and reimburse him in punches. For every penny he get punched in face.

You always get the attention seeker, who will no doubt be loving the attention after reading these posts. But these people are best left to crawl back under their rock.
arnieg
Now that Lewis is (thankfully) on the road to recovery can we now ask when the final is likely to be restaged. Presumably it will be a 16 heat 4TT involving the four finalists (there are precedents), but where?

Internet abuse is a serious problem, which needs to be eradicated. In many respects it's worse than 'face to face' abuse as the culprit is too often hidden behind a user name. Pleased that this one has been 'outed.' Edit: I see he has since apologised on Facebook Edited August 14, 2015 by Steve Park
