Tigerite
From a Sheffield point of view it was a good performance on a track we don't usually excel at. Robbo and Jason were very good and well backed up by solid points from the rest of the team. As regards the track, I've often been a critic of the Brough Park track as when I've visited for Sheffield meetings over the last 25 years it has generally been bumpy and rough and lots of first bend bunching incidents, but Sunday it was much smoother and riders were rewarded with going for the outside line on turns 3 and 4 and I thought the racing was ok and certainly better than our visit earlier in the season, but I suppose I would say that given we won. HadrianDog
Sorry, but likability in the pits does not cut it here. Is he the 'iron man' because of tenacity shown or because he lights up the scanners at every airport he uses. Those injuries add up and catch up. We, as a club, have shown more loyalty than many- given last year's blip and a certain Anders Anderson- but this sport is now a numbers game and we just aint playing it properly. As to who bring in? Quite frankly, as a pure and simple supporter, who of us are truly qualified to make those judgements. I merely wish to suggest that, at present, we are as a club going exactly where without intervention. From a Sheffield point of view it was a good performance on a track we don't usually excel at. As I have said before Where is our home advantage now? sod fair play! Only our riders should be able to ride OUR track.

ruffdiamond
HD The home team should have an advantage and, the track suited more to their liking,,, I'm sure it happens and if it doesn't, it should,,, a mean,,, who pays the man on the tractor Edited July 14, 2015 by ruffdiamond
Tsunami
Simon has done a job for us, to be fair. He has clocked up some points but has also had the odd poor score here and there. To give credit to the lad he tried to do some testing after the last meeting with captain Ludvig, but they were both red-lighted for the Sheffield interviews/junior match. Â If Simon were to be dropped, it wouldn't be because he did not do his job as a #6. It would be because the team overall has not kicked on and had some riders step up (honourable exception to Stevie), leaving some points to play with. Harsh but that's Speedway. It would be good to suggest eligible replacements before posts criticising the team, if possible. Â I'm not convinced changes at this late stage in the season are the way forward. Better to send Anton some gating gloves and get Simon to sort his setup/whatever other issues? Â As always this is just my opinion and I welcome healthy discussion that keeps Newcastle Speedway going and, ideally, brings future silverware (there be still PLKOC this season, Weegies Smeegies...) The plan was to go straight into the Gems meeting, straight after the end of heat 15. I was then told that Ludde was coming out and surprised that he was joined by Simon as well. Unfortunately, the referee is in charge of both meetings, and he had not agreed to have a practice between the two meets, so he red lighted it and it is something he is entitled to do. HadrianDog
Were Ludde and Simon just going to practice or was it one trying to help the other with something?
PaulS
Were Ludde and Simon just going to practice or was it one trying to help the other with something? Simon scored a disappointing zero on his own track and Ludvig is captain so perhaps he was trying to help Simon. I remember Robbo coming out with Ludvig last year with swapped bikes to investigate Ludvig's poor gating.

I remember Robbo coming out with Ludvig last year with swapped bikes to investigate Ludvig's poor gating. And this year Ludde went out with Rose ? and did starts on each others bikes. Both those occasions were after the meeting, and allowed by Smigs in the refs box.
