Dale Allitt has called upon former King’s Lynn ‘Stebbings Car Superstore’ Young Stars number one Lewis Rose for Friday’s meeting against a young Danish touring side, Team Fritte at the Adrian Flux Arena, 7:30pm.

Rose comes in as number one for the meeting and replaces the injured James Cockle. The remainder of Allit’s side is unchanged from Wednesday’s home defeat to Birmingham with Ryan Kinsley, captain Scott Campos, Shane Hazelden and Tom Stokes completing the top 5. Josh Bailey is partnered by Layne Cupitt at reserve.

Team Fritte are led former Lynn favourite Tom P Madsen and arrive at the Adrian Flux Arena as part of a three fixture tour with trips to Mildenhall and Kent also planned for later in the month. Supporters will recognise a couple of names in their team with Brian Karger’s son Peter riding at number 2 and John Jørgensen’s son Jason riding at number 6.

Young Stars manager Allitt said: “I think it is great that Tom has brought a team over to the UK. Development in Denmark is very good and it is something we as a nation need to be looking at. In the future I would like us take a team over there and do the same.

“Friday’s meeting will be good for our boys and having Lewis at number one will make us that bit stronger. Although it is a challenge, we want to win and bounce back from Wednesday’s defeat to Birmingham.”

Gates at the Adrian Flux Arena open at 6:30pm on Wednesday. Admission prices: Adults £11, Concessions £9, Juniors £4, Kids Under 11 go FREE.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message including your mobile number.

Thanks

Simon Selch is also the son of one of our forum members.Peter S,who doesn't post much these days, but used to keep us updated with news from Denmark

I knew I'd heard of the name before ....

Our promotion are terrible for 'promotion' at times, all they said in the lead up to this meeting was the fact that Lewis Rose was back for one night, not one mention of the guys in Team Fritte, sure they would have got a few more there with mention of the famous fathers but oh well.

And nothing in the 'programme' about them either, so annoying 😕

Very strange to have some young new talent over and give them no real mention. Also wonder that Tom Madsen was given credit for this when the "Fritte" name is synonymous with the Frimodt Pedersen family.Mark of course one of them and I know his father Henrik quite well and he is a very generous sponsor of youngsters and I think Patrick Hougaard when he was younger.Henrik and Partick Bjerregaards father also helped Arthur Sissis when he first came over for the 80cc YGT

News from the Fritte website with an interesting article from last years speedway star there.Don't think any young brits have ridden in this years comp though

Jason is the youngest at 17 and just starting out on 500cc this season,i think. From memory might have been European 80cc champ.Mark Frimodt Pedersen is a close friend of Jasons and sort of gave up the sport after his 80cc career, but then had a change of mind.Patrick Bjerregaard is the oldest at 23 and raced mostly for Holsted.Peter Karger I am not sure ever rode 80cc,at least I never saw him,he just seemed to turn up on 500cc.Like I say,Simons father is a member here and can give detailed career stats, but started out on 80cc for Slangerup and now rides for Holsted,I think in div 1 as Slangerup had no div1 team.Jason looks to be the star of the future out of this group

Doesn't work Bryn

Finally found it and one correction I would make is that the youngsters in Denmark generally start out even earlier than 80cc as they have many 50cc leagues and about 150 riders at that level!!!!!

Saw Emil Engström win an international meeting a few weeks back that included Rye House new signing Danny Maaßen(on his home track) and Peter Karger(who was disappointing)
