SharpenRake
Well it seems like ages since the last home meeting and back to Sunday afternoons - prefer evenings myself. For Tigers David Howe is still out and with Viktor Palovaara on World U21 duty we've got a guest and thanks to the new averages we can get Nike Lunna who impressed when up with Scunthorpe. Workington are along the usual lines though they've replaced Nicki Barret who nearly always does well at Ashfield with Matt Williamson. Matty Wethers is a potential problem as when he gates at Ashfield he's good at holding riders back. Anyway a home win by around 6 points. MD
This should be a great meeting that will go right to the last heat. Worky have no recognised No1 but have strength throughout their middle order where Glasgow are fragile. Still no solution to David Howe r/r, can't understand why, his shoulder injury won't heal itself, it kept him out of racing since April prior to joining us and a track return would seem unlikely. His 7 something average can't be covered by Palovaara, the mis-firing Berge and a twitchy Sarjeant! Wethers is a potential trump card at reserve, Crusty, Wells and Hansen will get among the points as well. Narrow home win!

Although not a solution, with the new averages everyone bar Nick Morris can get a ride so could score as many as Howe would have done, if fit, at least at home. certainly can't afford any engine problems - remember what happened when Summers borrowed an engine from Alex Edberg!!!! We also need Morris to come to the party before his third ride! He's not been that great at recent home meetings compared to earlier in the season. I read he was bringing one of his Swindon engines up so hopefully that makes the difference.

SharpenRake
oh dear, Nick Morris out for a few weeks with arm injury guesting for Somerset . It's bad enough when your riders get injured riding for their country, U21 and EL teams but when its guesting it seems even worse!!! Can see Tigers losing this with Bjerre as a guest. Should be glad that Lawson Sergeant and Summers who all rode last night didn't get injured as well. No chance beating Sheffield on aggregate on Thursday either
A ORLOV
Any news on Nick Morris's "injury" after last night? By the sound of it he will not be riding anywhere this weekend, Nick says hoping will not be out too long but it is a nasty one.

Appears we can use guest for now - Adam Roynon guests - so its a Tigers/bears select against the Comets
jenga
where,s that come from ? what a promising rider he is... big miss for the tigers if true. .. thought Glasgow were paying decent money to their riders.. sad..
Gazc
Team being decimated at an alarming rate Kozza injured out for season Replaced by it appears a less than fit David Howe who i would be surprised if we see again Nick Injured whilst guesting for Somerset out for a few weeks apparently Dimitri leaves stating loss of confidence I would imagine Stewart's phone will be red hot in sourcing replacements for David & now Dimitri by my reckoning we will have 12.14 to replace both albeit we can use guests for Nick major headache for Jose Whoever he can muster up will need to hit the ground running or the solid start we have made could all go pete tong. where,s that come from ? what a promising rider he is... big miss for the tigers if true. .. thought Glasgow were paying decent money to their riders.. sad.. Now on official site to be fair the past few weeks if Dimitri didn't gate he really didn't look like he had the confidence to pass when he gated he was very quick virtually impossible to replace him though on the average he is on with a rider that could get even close to the ability he has. Remember that he is very young and had a really serious injury last year seems a very shy young man and homesickness must be a factor he will be a big miss and we are looking weaker & weaker with every passing day.

Weeyin
So tomorrow we have 3 regular team members and 3 guests , think speedway need to have a total rethink over the winter, maybe go for teams of 6 riders
jenga
nicki barrett could do a job for you guys or ritchie hawkins. hope this setback does not ruin all the good work that has been put into ashfield this season..
Gazc
The guesting situation hits the riders clubs the hardest as in Nick's case injured whilst guesting and it is Glasgow & Swindon who now suffer, I understand that riders need as many meetings as possible but surely they need to cap the number off guest bookings they take. Richard has probably guested as many times for other teams as he has ridden for us this surely cannot continue in this vein. nicki barrett could do a job for you guys or ritchie hawkins. hope this setback does not ruin all the good work that has been put into ashfield this season.. I would doubt either would end up at Ashfield Barrett is to hot & cold and after seeing Hawkins a couple off weeks ago i am glad he gets a nose bleed when he crosses the border as he was dire.
MD
The combined averages of Berge and Howe could be used to offer more flexibility in who we sign. Berge has been poor this season other than his appearances in the 2 Sky meetings, his absence doesn't seriously weaken us at home. Kozza proved to be the wrong signing, as has David Howe his replacement, frustrating when the solid second string we desire was right on our doorstep at the start of the season in Theo Pijper. Short term we now need to rely on guests x 2 and r/r. Definitely not ideal with the number of meetings coming up in the next fortnight.

Can understand reason for double-up/down - riders need to earn more money as not enough fixtures in EL for those that don't ride abroad. So limit double up/down to those that only ride in UK. Also if you double up/down you're then not eligible for guest bookings. probably lots of loopholes but something needs to be done.
