g13webb
I am of the same opinion as you RP,lets move on if he stuffs up again badly well that is a different matter.I have made endless mistakes in my life, but the people around me have given me another chance that is how i am with other people. It takes alot more Guts to forgive and give someone another chance who are we to judge? to do that you have got to be squeaky clean and not many of us are. Sidney, I'm like you in that I always prepared to forgive and forget... .... When you are individuals like you and me, if we do wrong, it is only ourselves and family who are affected. When someone like Darcy does wrong he is letting down Millions, (Thousands anyway) He enjoys a life far better than we could imagine, so when someone is prepared to forego all that for something so menial, you have to question his sanity.,, He has lets people down so many times, you wonder does he keep deserving all these chances. I wonder if your view would differ, had he been riding for someone else..... I sincerely hope Darcy has learnt from the error of his ways and goes on from here, to become the Champion his talents warrant, Then I will say WELL DONE Son!!! But I'm not holding my breath.......
sommelier
I can tell you 100% that SOME riders party hard before a meeting. Only a few seasons ago i was staying in the same hotel as the travelling away team up north. Now i do like a drink, its my job! but i'll tell you what, i couldn't match them! I'm NOT going to name the team or the riders. But one of them is a current GP rider, another one was in this year's SWTC! And yes they did win the meeting the following day! We didn't judge, the FIM did and they found him guilty of attempting to race in a GP while under the influence of alcohol. We are merely passing comment, which is the very essence of a forum isn't it? I still can't believe some peoples attitude towards this. The other things he's done just prove he's a bit of a scumbag, individually probably not that bad but when you add up all the incidents he's been involved in it shows he's a thoroughly unpleasant individual. But he's changed this tme right? Never again right? Showed remorse and wants to prove he's a worthwhile addition to the human race and not just an oxygen thief? Yeah right!
Grachan
I went to the World Final in Vojens in the 80s. I saw one very well known rider totally out of it on the ferry and another one at the meeting. Neither were riding in the World Final, but I think this i fairly typical of a lot of riders. People give Darcy Ward a lot of stick, but I don't think he's done too much different than a lot of other people who like to have a go. Steve0
You know what makes me laugh.............anyone would think those who criticise Darcy for what he has done and allegedly done and was cleared of have never done a single thing wrong either legal or illegal in your lives................. Look back at the 70's when riders would often have a pint before getting on a bike............look at other riders who have been involved in drink and drug issues............do they get as much stick as Darcy does?????????? No but then in some cases social media was not around then but if it was would they have been given stick???????????? Why pick on Darcy............you don't see the likes of Michael Lee, Antonio Lindback or Gary Havelock getting the same criticism..................just to name three.............. None of you are perfect and neither am I.................let Darcy's riding do the talking.............and stop being critical when you have probably done something stupid in the past you are not proud of.................... RP I'm not criticing Darcy but this isn't the 70s. The reason why people pick on Darcy is probably because they know (but won't admit) that he a natural on a speedway bike and his off track antics are letting him down. Also just because others have transgressed isn't justification for Darcy's antics. The best way for Darcy to silence the critics is to do his talking on the track and behave himself off it - I think some people are looking for some remorse too but I think he has learned his lesson. I hope so to GR,and i admit i am chuffed to bits he is riding for the Robins. But really i don't care who he rides for we are lucky that he even wants to ride over here. His job is to keep a low profile, keep his head down and do his stuff then next year back on the GP trail. He has world titles in him i am convinced of that, just up to Darcy now i wonder if the Robins management regret putting tomorrows meeting for a tenner?. It should be packed a great gesture though like Leicester at least they are trying new thing's and good on them for that.
Starman2006
Amasing ain't it, ive just been through both threads, Leicester Swindon and the other Darcy thread, and not ONE Swindon fan has said well done Darcy for banging in 15 points last night. You really do deserve sod all. Edited July 12, 2015 by Starman2006

You really do deserve sod all. One meeting and they lost. Darcy being excluded in heat 13 while on a 5-1 was costly in getting a point if anyone wants to knit pick. So your asking Swindon fans to thank Darcy for losing them the meeting?

A ORLOV
It is good that Rosco read my post on here and has got Hans as a guest for Nick. With Hans, Darcy and hopefully a fit Troy, then with Zengi and Ed they should provide a good meeting against the dark force. Not sure if Charles is riding and even with Lewis getting a bit better it is the reserve scores, as shown at Leicester, that will be important. We all know what Dak and Magic are capable of at Swindon and with Chris Holder are a powerful heat leader trio. D Watt seems now to have upped his scoring and with Kasper are not bad. Kyle could do very well and worry our reserves. It may be asking too much of Ed for his first meeting at Swindon but if Darcy rides like he did last night and gets another brilliant score, Hans guests like he has done at Blunsdon, Troy is fit and Ed dials into the track Swindon can win this meeting. Do you think he gives a f*ck whether people on here say well done for his score.

He did more than expected first meeting back. But end of the day we lost so negatives get focused on rather than positives. That's sport!
