mdmc82
Are you a bit bored this morning?? Children Under 5 are Free; 5-10 £4. I guess its a similar question as to why Coventry charge £18 for Adults when most others only charge £17 Yes as I pointed out 5-10years is £4 whilst it's free at other clubs. my friend & her husband were thinking of going to play offs there but said if they have to pay £16 to take 4 kids when it's free everywhere else then might give it a miss. Any child under 16 or still in education should be free at every club with a paying adult. They are the fans of the future & will end up taking their parent when they get older. Speedway has so few fans between 20-30 & the reason why is because parents simply can't afford to pay for them when they are still in education.

I agree with the first bit but I'm not so sure about the second sentence. Once my two were old enough to be left at home they weren't interested in being dragged to speedway matches anymore. I'll have to broach the subject with them of what happens when I'm no longer able to drive myself to meetings. Should be interesting. My mum used to take me & 2 friends every home meeting when I was young & we stopped going when I started playing cricket on Saturdays as that was when Swindon were at home. My mum used to come with me until it got to cold for her & Ill health but it was great to have things gone full circle. I started again when Swindon moved to Thursday nights & have taken all 3 of my kids up to the age of 13 when Swindon charge for kids & then stopped going every week as £16 plus £12 for them was just to expensive. I then used to meet 5 friends but they have all stopped going now & find it sad going on my jack😥

So they pick there meetings. You have to ask the question, if Speedway charged a tenner for every home EL meeting, would you get regular big crowds ? Its the same old story, what you lose on the swings you gain on the roundbouts and all that ie club shop programmes etc. But on the flip side, how many clubs would be running if you dropped it to a tenner, my guess only half what we have now . SteveLyric2
Well its clearly not affecting Poole's attendances as MF stated on BBC Radio Solent yesterday (in an hour long interview) that attendances had been up in both of the last 2 years! Having said that I believe there should be a better deal for accompanied youngsters (whatever happened to 'kids for a quid'?) and also for the teenagers/early 20 somethings!
van wolfswinkel
Should be same as horse racing..free to all under-18s, the watered down Elite League speedway aint worth 17 quid..if you look at the cost say 40 years ago and take inflation into account shouldn't be more than 12 quid. We used to pay at Swindon as kids in the 60s/70s(although it was a lot easier to climb in then!and we did that mostly). Too old to attempt that now! At least with Wardy riding now gates should increase, same as when Zagar joined 5 years ago.

No I'm not although think they were set to wind up Hagonshocker if you look at some of his earlier abusive posts which led to him being blocked by Alan. Rich area.......................yes there are some who are but the majority of us are not.................the majority of us struggle with not having had a pay rise for 6 years and him indoors has had a minimal one for the first time in 5 years this month...............the cost of living gets higher but wages do not increase.............I cannot afford to go to every meeting much as I would like to.............its a choice of speedway or having enough food at the end of the month...................not all of us are on £50k a year salaries.............we don't even earn that between us not by a long chalk............ There are families that I know that are struggling more than we are so before you go saying its a very rich area think again..............don't bracket us all the same........... Oh dear oh dear....................anyone wishing ill of a rider like that wants banning from social media and the sport as a whole.............totally unnecessary and totally unacceptable conduct of a so called fan regardless of what they think of him as a rider.................

Poole is a rich area compared to other areas where there is speedway, I am not saying people don't struggle in poole but looking at the area around poole to areas around a few other tracks, its posh. blimey you getting in for kids price at 21 is amazing, see you can all afford plastic surgery down there to look younger hehe
