The Darcy Ward Show! Swindon V Poole - Mon 13th July 7.30 Elite League (sky Meeting)

Recommended Posts

Still ruining the forum for others I see..............Wind your neck in Christopher......

I said MF always has a plan come play-off time for team changes..........You said and I quote 'MF Has said he will not make changes so get over it FFS'..........................Before EDITING YOUR POST!

In your next post you said and I quote ' I cant see MF making any changes till play-off time when MF releases one of his masterstokes'

Therefore when I said MF always has a plan you sent abuse yet you agreed with me in the next post........

Do yourself a favour and drop it....Before you make yourself look like an even bigger Idiot/Clown than you already are.

I clearly said there will be no changes NOW, not, not at all. I followed it by saying I can't see MF making any changes until the playoffs when he may pull off a masterstroke. There is nothing contradictory about that and in fact it just reinforces the first statement.

You are a troll...and plenty of other posters have stated as much on this thread and others.

Can you please do all us Poole supporters a favour and bog off back to the Abbey where your constant moaning may have some justification.

Gate1 are u a rider?

Post of the week! Made me laugh out loud, love the irony 👍🏼

There was small threat of light rain in the evening in Swindon while for the Cov meeting storms and high winds were forecast, plus rain during the day. It was never gonna go beyond 10 heats and maybe shouldn't have reached that. It's a bit different to the forecast and weather Swindon had yesterday!

Swindon had a huge threat of rain all day, just because it never materialised doesn't change the fact that both scenarios were exactly the same.

It just showed Coventry didn't promote the meeting as good as Swindon.

Both updates on each day were saying 'the track at the minute is dry' ... heavy clouds around both stadiums.

People chose to pay £10 and chance the weather instead of watching on the TV or paying full whack

Did Swindon have torrential rain all day Sunday & Monday then as that's not what others have said? The weather forecast was always for it to clear by lunch so this meeting was never in a lot of doubt.

With the Coventry one it rained heavy all day Sunday and then it rained all day Monday (other Midlands clubs had same conditioned & rained off) the wind was 45mph and forecast was dreadful.

Sorry if it ruins your argument but hardly the same

Looking past all the Darcy Ward trifle... besides Wright & Newmans battles that was very poor racing in my opinion.

Swindons track so big and slick it's a bit of a gaters paradise.

Obviously not a regular to the abbey. Too used to that tripe served on that awful Coventry track. Biggest home advantage in the league on that field, that is for sure.

Still a Pirate at heart http://m.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/13417928.Speedway__I_m_still_a_Pirate_in_my_heart_says_Ward/

Looking forward to seeing him back in 2016 - look after him Swindon for the rest of 2015.

Talks of the new track has work started yet?

No nothing started on track but the houses that were supposed to be built after or at least in line with it are going up, surprise, surprise.

No way will it be ready for next season unless they get a move on or no doubt they'll be blaming poor weather😡

Why on earth would I want to be a regular at the Abbey. Oh I know I could of watched lots of cheating this season great for speedway.

You said the Abbey is a gaters paradise so how can you make such a comments without being a regular? Another silly comment, no wonder you are not respected on this forum.

my argument is that the Coventry & Swindon promotions had different views on how to attract customers through their doors... If Horton had reduced his prices in line with most sky matches he wouldn't have been in a position as he is now.

Swindon did have torrential downpours over the weekend, my garden was happy with it though....and the threat was big enough on Monday to question peoples attendance.

Off topic a bit, but can anyone tell me why they shouldn't have brakes these days, I would have thought it would make the sport that much safer...

BTW...I know little of the technical side and have little interest either, I just like to see 4 guys race in the safest environment possible..

It would make it more dangerous. Being able to turn effectively around the bend, the back wheel needs to keep skidding and the more it does the sharper the turn. Having brakes would counter this and although someone could use a rear wheel brake to give them more grip on a slick track, it would risk the bike straightening violently and endangering that riders and others. A front wheel brake would make turning more difficult as when the front wheel skids, which it would, the bike goes away from the rider and they're more likley to fall off on the low side.

Down the straight then the impact of a rear wheel brake could be to make the bike gain traction and lift if applied with any force to stop colliding with a rider directly in front but is not necessary because simply closing the throttle really knocks off the speed due to them being four stroke single cylinder engines.

They used to have front brakes in grasstrack where you have different types of machines but they were largely ineffective. Of course another component which can come adrfit and maybe jam a wheel or hit a rider is also not something they need.

Hope this answers your query in a not too techincal a way. ;)

p.s. Zengota did well on Monday, shame for Belle Vue he was worse than poor at Lakeside the previous Friday!

How much bad luck can we have in 1 night......Ridiculous

Not as much as Swindon had at the 1st meeting. We lost 3 riders that night & finished up with only 6 riders in this meeting.

as I predicted average manipulation after the meeting had been won and the 3 league points secured! :t:

Hardly average manipulation as Darcy's average over 2 meetings is 9.45. Try posting sensibly, Poole made the gate in heat 15 & it makes no sense to take risks when the meeting is already won.
