The Darcy Ward Show! Swindon V Poole - Mon 13th July 7.30 Elite League (sky Meeting)

Recommended Posts

i am sure it was mentioned in a post not long ago that it had no effect on the averages. may be some one like scb or another of gods gift to speedway regs can give us the answer.

needn't go to the bspa, they wont know.

Match averages are calculated on a “rolling” basis, for a specified number of applicable meetings, taking account of the number of heats and points (excluding Bonus Points) that a rider has scored.

This includes ALL heats in an applicable match, including heat 15. The only exceptions are:

"tactical rides" where any double points scored will only count at 50%

Appearances as a guest rider, which are not included in a rider's CMA

Appearances as a number 8, which are also not included in a rider's CMA.

The only reason why I can think that someone might have said that a rider's appearance in heat 15 wouldn't have any effect on his average is if that rider was appearing as a guest in that particular meeting.

Asked you one earlier and you couldn't reply....And then in your next post you agreed with me....

I have better things to do from now on so my last reply to you ........is grow up.....get a life.......because your boring fella. ;)

Dunno what you're banging on about again...I have agreed with nothing. I am a true Poole supporter who SUPPORTS my team. You are a troll that constantly slates them, but claims to support them.

Oh and thanks for the personal conversation...it does nothing more than prove you to be the immature non supporter we know you to be.

Don't forget, he was a Panthers fan the year before that!

you missed the ny off of fan ER

Looking past all the Darcy Ward trifle... besides Wright & Newmans battles that was very poor racing in my opinion.

Swindons track so big and slick it's a bit of a gaters paradise.

Not so much now as Big Ron has created more racing lines.

Thought Charles Wright was superb last night and I hope he can maintain that form all the way to the PO final..

Lewis was so unlucky, he did brilliantly to mostly avoid Starke and I hope he's back riding asap (Get well soon Lewis)...

As for our new briiliant No1, he did well and no complaints from me, although there was little effort in heat 15, but then again the Mighty Robins had already beaten the 'raggle taggle' Pirates by that stage.

Also good to see Troy have a much better meeting whilst Zengi just seems to get better and better, hopefully the promising Krcmar will soon start to deliver to

So a big well done to Rosco's Rockin' Robins :t:

BTW... I assume you were there last night Gater, what with your Swindon and Poole connections

And with 11-4 heat wins for Swindon, thought Poole were a tad fortunate to hit 40.

With the new stadium about to start can see some decent crowd figures next year, and wouldn't mind buying season tickets, as at least you're guaranteed a seat, unlike now where you have to carry your own in. 3 newbies last night couldn't believe the speed, and that there are no brakes, and they were shocked at the number of falls/crashes. The only downside for them was the poor view, and their unfortunate visit to the black-hole of Blunsdon, those infamous back-straight boggies, Glad to see Swindon have gained at least 3 new fans anyway.

Hope young Rosie is ok..looked nasty, crashed right in front of us.

Off topic a bit, but can anyone tell me why they shouldn't have brakes these days, I would have thought it would make the sport that much safer...

BTW...I know little of the technical side and have little interest either, I just like to see 4 guys race in the safest environment possible..

Also took some newbies, one of them also needed to use the loo, but I advised him to walk twice the distance and use the home straight bogs. At least I saw him again later....

That was very funny starry!

A colleague at work and his wife went for the first time on free tickets from their Adver subscription and thoroughly enjoyed it. He assured me they will go again.

For me it wasn't a classic but it was exciting and unpredictable with a few good races thrown in. Add in the decent crowd and atmosphere, have to say well done to the Promotion.

I asked for that didn't I Starman,, :t:

It's just something that I have thought about for many years..

If you have brakes, you can avoid certain situations and it would have helped both Lewis Rose and Paul Starke out last night...

I would be very interested to know why this rule has been kept..

Im not sure what sort of effect brakes would have travelling at 60mph on shale. And in a situation like last night i doubt there was much either rider could do. Brakes imo would have been no use at all.

I'm no expert on this, but I believe I'm about right on this.......I'm sure someone will know more than me:-

When Speedway first started, they used ordinary road bikes (maybe with off road tyres??) and of course they had brakes too!! But it was found to be MORE dangerous with brakes, so they were removed to make the racing safer.

Imagine if your right behind another rider going into the bend and they hit the brake.......ouch!!

More newbies to Swindon were there last night. Was speaking to a couple from Melbourne and another from Mildura.

Jeez, long way to come for an EL meeting. British speedways not dead after all. Long live the EL...

Hope you didn't introduce them to the Arkells Orlovski?

Perhaps he introduced them to Baby Oleg..

One had come over for the Cardiff GP and the couple were visiting relatives. The couple enjoyed last night so much they are visiting Poole on 29th to see Swindon beat Poole again.
