Cradley V Stoke

Recommended Posts

Not sure if Luke is feeling the effects of his crash at Mildenhall, he had a nasty one and seemed to be under-par against Birmingham last week. Hopefully the rest will do him good, if he can get some MDL rides it would help a lot.

Good luck to Tyler, I think he perhaps overtried on his debut but looked fast and should compete well with the Stoke reserves.

Unfortunately can't make it tonight, first one missed this year, but it should be a steady win for the Heathens I think. Last time only Payne and Phillips put up proper resistance and I'm not sure much will change this time around.

Hope it keeps dry for everyone!

I think several riders would benefit from some extra MDL outings but many appear to not want them?

Personally I think that RR should be dropped from the NL and the number 8's used or shuffle the riding order and put a reserve in the 1-5 with the no 8 in at reserve. They should also be able to take any reserve riders outing not just RR rides.

If we are going to insist upon them and want to drive new blood into the sport why not give them all the opportunities available?

Number 8 is useless and should be used instead of R/R like at Eastbourne I feel sorry for Niall Strudwick comes down and sets up gets 4 loops of the track after the meeting and goes home again... A lot of money for him to spend and do nothing

Exactly. Even more crazy is they cant step in for a reserve during a meeting. If one was struggling or the meeting was already won / lost it would be an ideal time to give riders like Niall match experience.

I always thought they could do that and kept moaning that they weren't doing it. Silly rule they can't really

So kings do you think we should have Harris in the team instead of R/R for greaves, not being funny but would make us alot weaker. Ridiculous suggestion.

In that instance it would make you weaker but over the course of the season it would balance out across the teams. But with my suggestion you could re order the team i.e 1.Cleggy 2 Extance 3 Williamson 4 Moggo 5 Perks 6 Harris 7 Govier doesn't look too shocking to me?

I know what you're getting at, to give the number 8 a chance but its not fair to say one side has to cover an injured heat leader with a 3.00 rider but the other team can be at full strength or their injured rider is fifth in the averages. Its not like for like replacements, which at least R/R tries to give teams.

Agreed its not like for like but very rule will have its pitfalls. Same can work the other way though. When Zack Waj or Ellis Perks are running at reserve like they have been they can run riot with RR.

Its a double edged sword some teams are weaker with RR some are clearly stronger. Just seems harsh to insist teams in the NL have a number 8 when RR is used in the NL and then not actually use them.

Quite right. Last night, Perks scored a 7 ride maximum! Obviously, Cradley would have preferred RR for this reason, but they would have been nearly as strong if he had been in the team. As it was, it was a rather boring match.
